The sound quality is so much better than the internal mic on my cameras. While it draws power from the cameras, I don't notice any quicker degradation of the batteries. It's small so it's easily packed in my camera bag. I love that it has both input and output jacks to use for other connections (like a Rode wireless mic). The dead cat wind supressor is durable and somewhat heavy for it's size, but it works well. It does't seem to muffle the sound.

I originally thought of this mic as something I would need to upgrade later, but I don't see a need to replace this until I break this one somehow.I use this mic attached to a mic stand to make Youtube videos in my garage. Placed correctly I am able to minimize the loudness of the room and capture my voice loud and clear. It fits great on camera, and there isn't any detectable hiss or other noise. The dead cat works well when I'm out and about and overall its just a nice grab and go mic if that's your thing. I usually have it on a mic stand though and its positioned as close as possible while staying out of frame. Works great for me, and is likely worth a try for anyone else!

I like the quality of the sound while using this but I am disappointed to say that one of the cables stopped working almost immediately after purchase.

Bought this for a Sony ZV1M2 that I just purchased. Still feels like a small rig and doesn't add any noticeable weight. Audio quality is definitely better than the on-board camera mic. Great product for the price!

Purchased this mic for outside usage on my Sony Cameras...OMG..using this mic on a closeup shot of about 5-8ft, it sounds like your using a professional boon mic..Im serious..Even from behind the camera, your voice comes through clean and clear. Wind blocker is a nice conversational piece, however does a phenomenal job of blocking wind...I am almost ready to set up the mic in a hidden place where audio can be recorded to a Tascam and dubbed in. No need for lapelles..its really a awesome mic for the Sony A7 Series cameras

I really like this Mike because the Rode Mic that I have before was all buzzy and everything and you can hear the audio but this doesn’t that high quality sound or close to it or totally recommend

The clarity is good enough but does require some EQ tweaking to extract the goodness out of the mic. Using it in a boom config for my YouTube videos, and I would say it's decent.Let's see how much it holds up in the long run.

Sab theek hai but noise thoda bahot aata hi hai.... Agar vlogging purpose ke liye le rahe ho ye mic toh suggest karunga ki Bi directional mic le lo... Wo better rahega

This item does not work at all . I wonder why this is a product on Amazon. Please no one here should consider this. When I set it up as mentioned in the instructions, I get no feedback or recordings. So frustrating
