Does the job. Keeps them long arms from trying to sneak in and unlock the door. Also looks sleek and shines nicely. Gave my door life again instead of it looking sad. It’s nice firm metal with a little weight to it and yes even though I bought it used. Looks brand new. It did not come with the hardware, so I used the current hardware that watched to the plate. And I used the plate along with the mailbox cover to give it a sleeker look. I recommend to anyone who wants that extra precaution and wants to keep their home a bit warmer without a breeze coming through.

Easy to screw on, lined up with the holes of the mail slot in the door already. These are really hard to find and it seemed a bit over-priced, but it looks nice and will prevent someone from sticking their arm through the mail slot.

Not all Solid Brass Letter Box Hood are made the same. I am please that I selected this one. Sturdy and durable.

This is the only interior mail slot cover I have been able to find short of an insightly cage.First and foremost, his will NOT prevent people from seeing inside the mail slot. It weirdly falls short of this pretty obvious function. It DOES reduce the visibility somewhat. It will also make anyone trying to "fish" in there a little harder.Next, the material is think very thin. As such, it's a seriously overpriced piece of hardware. My first one also arrived scratched. I had it replaced.I went with it because honestly, weirdly, no one else has anything better. Sounds like a business opportunity.In summary, it is better than nothing, but not by a lot. Still, every measure to secure your home is a measure taken in the right direction!

Mine had rust on it. Did not unwrap it for a couple of months. Otherwise it was fine and does the job. Can I get a replacement?

The product looked good but the brass screws provided with the item were too small for the holes drilled in the hood and the heads popped right through the holes. Luckily, I had other brass screws that I could use to successfully install the item.
