I bought this after struggling to make sense of why I was not getting the float adjusted correctly. After a bit of research I realized the float that came with a cheaper kit was not proportioned correctly and was throwing off the float level so I couldn’t operate over half throttle (as the bow pitches up to get on plane)This float had better proportions and gave me better results. I’m still having a fuel issue but this seems much better.

This looks like an excellent quality carb kit, but it is not the right one for 1993 Johnson 20hp (J20CRETS). Keep looking if you have this motor.

This product exceeds OEM standards and the quality is better than any OEM product I have used in the past. Not to mention the price point is spot on. From the brass needle seat pin to the one piece float, this is a quality product and priced accordingly.

Unlike the other NON OEM carburetor kits, this kit is very good quality. All of the gaskets are well made and are made from the correct materials, the float is not the cheap plastic ones that will leak, they are made out of the same material as the OEM ones. Lastly the needle seat is actually threaded correctly unlike the other kits for sale.

The kit does have parts for more than one model, so you will have some leftover parts. Third photo shows the extra parts that I had. During disassembly I sat each part to one side on a paper towel. Several parts do not need replaced and are not in any kit. Of the parts to be replaced, I rejected three. First photo shows those three parts. Second photo shows the float that I didn't use. The float looked suspect to me, so I reused the old one that was in good shape. The little spring clip for the float valve was formed too wide and did not snap on, so I used the old one that was good. The new float hinge pin fit, but I liked the head on the original pin better so used it again. This kit is okay, but next time I'll spend a few more dollars and get the one from Evinrude. Fourth photo shows the old parts that I replaced.
