Getting new laces after mine broke was such a small change, but it had a huge impact! I didn't realize how tight I was having to make my other laces to feel secure in my skates until I got these. They are incredibly sturdy (thick!), long, and very colorful! With my black boots and toe-guards, the rainbow speckles adds a nice splash of color that I am really happy with. If you are like me and just stuck with your default laces because you didn't think they'd make a difference, consider upgrading your laces. You're probably already looking for some given you're reading the review on laces now, but these are worth the purchase. I will be sticking with Derby Laces for my lacing in the future.

I like that these have a base of black, with the rainbow woven in. It allows them to be a subtle rainbow, so nearly professional.I purchased the 72 inch size for 8 hole Doc Martens. I have narrow feet and like them laced tight, so a lot hangs loose in the bow. However, I can loosen them and not actually remove the lace from the holes, so I think it's a perfect fit.They stay tied nicely and look great!

Purchased for my child’s hockey skates. They seem very well made and look great. Appear to tie nicely. They are narrower than regular hockey laces but this won’t matter in my kid’s tiny youth skates. Picture comparing the lace to the factory lace in my major brand adult hockey skates provided for comparison.

These laces are beautiful, the width is great, they don’t slip when you are tightening your boot, and they seem very durable. The ONLY drawback is that they are coated in wax. Once you lace your boot and tighten the laces the wax dulls the look of the laces. I’m guessing that it will wear off eventually but right now they don’t look as good as they originally did.
