This is the perfect gift for our Georgetown student. This looks amazing with both a suit or dress casual. It is a perfect length and width. The fabric is smooth and the print is crisp. The logo is perfect for the Georgetown Hoyas!

I have strongly mixed feelings about this tie -first, the good part: The colors are perfect - from the hue itself to the crisp lines separating the blue and grey. For being generally muted colors compared to other schools, these still "pop." Additionally, the logo is perfect. It doesn't look like it was thrown on last minute - it looks integrated into the tie. I love that it's off-center, too. I'm not sure the reason, but that makes me feel more sophisticated and almost clever. Great choice.Now, the unfortunate part. You'll be limited in the knots you can tie. The material is surprisingly thick for polyester (at least compared to my other ties) and it's shorter. In trying out various knots I barely made it to a the Windsor before I had virtually no tie to work with. Even if I used a tie clip to hold the small tail down, that clip would be awkwardly high up my shirt. And I'm literally average - 5' 9" - I'm not some giant with a torso that needs an extra long tie. I usually get mine from Costco or Amazon sales, I'm not picky. But at a price point of $29.99, I'm surprised this was manufactured and distributed knowing the thicker and shorter material would take up valuable real estate in the process of tying the tie itself.If you're a 4-in-hand or Pratt Knott person, you'll definitely be fine. If you prefer a chunkier knot, this may not be for you or at least keep that in mind when you order it in case you need to return it.

This is not a super high quality tie but it's all about the school. And it's got the Georgetown colors and emblem. It makes a nice gift for a student or alumnus.

The current price of $29.99 is a great deal for this tie. I would expect the price to be much higher considering the cost of other GU accessories and clothing items.Overall, I recommend this tie and think it would make a great gift for a Hoya or someone who is a Georgetown fan.
