This stuff is amazing. A little messy… But if you know what you’re in for it works wonders. My whole chassis was vibrating from a subwoofer upgrade to my rear quarter panel. Used this to coat the inside of the subwoofer cavity and it did exactly as it should. Nice and quiet. Will be using this again.

I drive a turbocharged 2006 subaru wrx with 116k miles on it. this affordable sports car is one of the loudest cars in the world in part because subaru put almost no sound insulation in the car so it could be light and affordable.road noise has been so bad that it actually hurts my hearing now.ordered 4 cans of this stuff after reading a lot of other amazon reviews.I agree with many other reviewers: this stuff does help, but not that much.I had my mechanic take the wheels off, and spray a lot of this stuff onto the wheel wells. three cans (yes, three) was able to give me a decent coat on the four wheel wells. with the remaining can, I just had my mechanic spray under the driver seat - an undercoating.there definitely is a decrease in road/tire noise. i'll guess it's about 1 decibel.the other reviewers are right - you'll need lots of coats of this stuff if you want to make a big reduction in noise.[side note: for those of you who would super quiet cars, change the tires. sure, very expensive - but then you aim for the source of the problem]I did use 3m 03584 Professional Grade Rubberized Undercoating - 16 oz - before. In fact, I think I've used 10 cans total on all the wheel wells.I think this boom mat is a little more effective. my mechanic said it was thicker. boom mat also comes with a small, long, spray/straw like tube that can be attached to the can. in other words, boom mat can be sprayed through a provided tube that concentrates the spray that comes out, enabling you to reach into even deeper places for greater buildup. sure, it's slow... but it can enable those who wants to reach (almost) everywhere to do so.so, I like this stuff. my car is quieter. seems easy to use. darn cheap too. buy only 4 cans of this stuff, and get free shipping from amazon. comes out to only $10 a can.cost effective, helps (a little), and can always put on more later on for even more effect. I plan to buy more in the future.

I drive a 1989 Toyota MR2. This vehicle happens to have the engine, and transmission in the middle of the car for weight distribution purposes. They car idles at 2000 RPM when cold, which produces a tremendous amount of noise and vibrations. Also on the road, especially the open highway, they car SCREAMS doing 65 mph at 4000 RPM. Something had to be done. BOOM MAT. I lined roughly 40% of the engine lid surface area with boom mat, and the results are awesome. I had plenty of boom mat left, so I applied it to various parts of the engine bay's panels. Perfect. Now the car is quiet and smooth. I can now hear the air coming out of my vents, and other little things inside the car that I could never hear before. I highly recommend this product for sound and vibration dampening purposes. All you have to do is wipe the surface down, to remove all the dirt, and dust. If there are any sensitive areas (nuts/bolts/VIN info) just go ahead and throw painters tape over it. From about five inches out, go ahead and coat the surface liberally. If it's a hard to reach surface, carefully use the straw attachment. Let it dry for the prescribed amount of time. This is literally a super thick, sound/vibration substance. If there is any unwanted boom mat overspray, I recommend carefully using some brake cleaner on a soft cloth, and gently rub it off(before it dries). It's meant to last, but you don't want to damage any paint in the removal process. BOOM MAT in a can is truly the best of Amazon!

i purchased 3 of this and used it on my trunk and cabin floor. This stuff goes fast i used all three and still think need more in my trunk. I originally wanted to reduce my exhaust noise and it did just a lil bit. But my bass sounds wayy cleaner this is good but not the best. It sprays easy smells like lemon and it dries in 20 min in hot temp.Cons: Can goes quick so you have to move quick

I used this spray in the trunk of my vehicle, and in the two front wheel wells. It did reduce noise slightly on the front end, and it worked well with reducing noise in the trunk/rear end. I can say this isn't as good as "peel and stick" deadner sheets but it was useful for the very angled and curved trunk and the wheel wells. The spray dries quickly, about an hour in really hot weather, and was completely dry and "paint ready" within 5-6 hours. This does leave a smell for a day or two, but it clears out quickly. I'd suggest to leave the doors/trunk open overnight to let the vehicle air out.The can itself is good quality, and sprayed a nice even coat and didn't clog up during the application. Just make sure to not let the spray dry on the nozzle or you'll probably have to unclog it. The can I received also had its spray nozzle NOT ON THE CAN, which is a great idea because I can imagine the can going off during shipping and ending up with a sound deadened, yet ruined shipping box.I would suggest two cans, because one can barely covered the surfaces I wanted. I plan on ordering another can to do the rear wheel wells, and to put a second coat on the front. The can says it can cover around 20 square feet, but you'll want to do multiple coats so expect around 8-10 sq/ft per can.FYI, Amazon can only ship this via ground so expect a 4-7 day wait to get it. Very good product. When received the can is heavier than expected and sprays very thick but does an excellent job of reducing noise from the trunk, I would recommend this product for a cheaper alternative to the roll on mats. Two coats in the trunk and the two front doors took the whole can, but would buy again.

This is indeed the heaviest spray can I've ever held so its got body ... I used this on the under side of a plastic engine splash guard ... the original splash guard was made of a more sound proofing material but kept dropping because of its weight. I liked the idea of plastic but didn't want any excess noise ... so I roughed the plastic shield up and gave it several sprays over a few days. It sprayed on evenly dried flexible and by all means should definitely help with the noise. The extra left in the can I'll spray on other areas underneath my car to help with any road noise as well. Will update if I have any problems but the application went on pretty decently.

Used a total of four cans on my 96 Cobra. I did the floors and trunk after I gutted the interior panels to dead out some road noise. Worked great for me. A pointer that if you have drain holes in the floor or trunks make sure to seal them then spray, if you don’t the road noise will still be evident.
