I have very little sewing skills but this was easy enough to manage. It definitely requires some time to make though. I did run out of the tan string, but I made it work.

I did not like that so many pieces actually were printed on paper and then you had to put them on the felt and cut them out. Much more difficult than having them printed on the felt itself. Especially the smaller pieces. Would not order again.

Though I've done well over a dozen stockings over the years, imagine my shock and dismay with discovering this is the first time to get one that wasn't preprinted other than the blue (main front panel), white (primarily the backing, top cuff and bottom portion) and dark green (the tree). Ten of the thirteen (13) pieces of felt have NO markings on them at all. You are supplied with a large paper pattern with several parts less than an inch. I can already see what a nightmare it's going to be trying to cut these out with a piece of (printer) paper on top of felt. Pay special attention to the details of the photo of this kit and really think about having to use a paper pattern for each of the little details. A total of ninety-seven (97) pieces have to be done using a pattern!!! Keep in mind that if anything is cut even a little too small (due say to the paper shifting while cutting), the white lines on the piece it attaches to will show. Several of these have sequin placement dots as well as added applique needs such as filling in parts on the eyes all of which have to be hand-marked or 'wing it'.Definitely allow yourself much more time and patience to do this kit.I bought this kit to sew, not 'create' using a pattern. I would much rather have paid more for this and had everything preprinted like every other kit I've ever done. Sadly disappointed and I definitely wouldn't recommend this kit to anyone. Maybe this is common for the Design Works brand.Instructions are basic and should be enough to guide anyone to complete. Usually, two (2) needles are provided in these kits. This one only comes with the thin on, but it will allow for both appliqueing and attaching the sequins.

My sister in law made one of these for my daughter 39 years ago. I liked it so much I then made 2 more for daughters and now 3 more for grandchildren. They are easy to do if you follow the directions but will take a long time to finish. They all look great and are well loved by my family. Everything is included or easy to find. A great keepsake.

The patterns are printed on paper which you then gave to cut out and pin to the felt to make sure you cut it correctly. I wish it was printed directly on the felt. The paper is extremely frustrating.

I haven’t started it. I plan on giving it as a gift, but from the intense amt of work needed I will have to gift it next Christmas. The instructions are very well laid out. I definitely believe this project is do-able.

I have been making felt stockings from kits for my family off and on for 45 years and I have NEVER come across a kit so poorly designed! It took twice as long to make because all the felt pieces were not stamped. Having to cut the pieces out of paper first was ridiculous! The embroidery thread was cheap and constantly knotted up. I ran out of white, black and off-white thread before the kit was finished. The beading needle had no eye, there was no blue felt provided for the ornaments. Thankfully, I had extra supplies from stockings made in the past to make up for what the kit lacked. The end result was very cute but I was never so glad to see a project come to an end. I will never purchase Design Works products in the future.
