So first, the good things about this kit. The boxes are stinking cute. I love plastic canvas and have been working in the format for years. This was a nice intermediate project to do and I like that I didn't have to go source everything like I usually do. I was looking for an easy, out-of-the-box project to do while I watch TV. You should know that the boxes are fairly small - much smaller than the photo on Amazon makes them look. But the overall kit was put together poorly. Here are the things you'll need to look out for:1) The yarn amounts were not estimated correctly. There is not even remotely enough ivory or black yarn to complete the project. My advice is to skip using their yarn and use your own ivory or white yarn. One of the boxes is made up almost entirely of the ivory yarn. I had to switch to my own yarn about 3/4 of the way through the box. I found a pretty decent match but I can still tell that it's two different colors of white.2) The tapestry needle provided is bad. Tapestry needles are blunt but they should still taper down to a narrow point at the end. This allows for getting through layers of yarn and being able to finish by weaving the tail through the back of the work. The needle provided was literally cut off at the end so that it was a completely flat surface. I switched to my own needle pretty quickly because it was so difficult to use the needle provided.3) This kit comes with 3 sheets of plastic canvas that are 90 holes wide. To get around this for the two bigger boxes, the pattern uses "extenders" so that you have essentially join together one large piece and then one small piece to make the entire box. This is just really clunky so I skipped their plastic canvas altogether and used a bigger piece from my stash to make one long piece that I could stitch. So essentially, the project isn't as out-of-the-box as I would have liked it because I had to spend more money to get my own supplies. It's definitely overpriced for what you get, especially because it's defective.

I love the pattern and the end results are cute, however the amounts of yarn are very off. I have a lot of extra yarn of some colors (lime green and purple) and ran out if Ivory having to purchase more. I would anticipate for the price that all needed yarn would be included. Also when cutting out make sure you count rather than matching up on the pattern because it is not quite life size. Happy crafting! Worth the purchase even with running out of the ivory yarn.

The top and bottom of each round container are made by cutting notches into a square and when you go to attach the band to the notches it’s really awkward to know how to join the two. I am in the process of ordering actual circles to use instead of what’s provided. Also, I wish they would count the lines/squares for you and put it on the pattern so you’d have less to count - I always make mistakes.
