Review: DEWALT DW8327 Zirconia Flap DiscThe DEWALT DW8327 7-Inch by 5/8-Inch-11 36 Grit Zirconia Flap Disc has been an essential tool for my log home building business. Its durability and efficiency stand out, especially when working on large-scale wood projects. The zirconia material ensures longevity, even under heavy use, making it an excellent value for the cost. The 36-grit texture is perfect for shaping and smoothing logs, handling tough surfaces with ease while providing a clean finish. It fits securely on my angle grinder, and the threaded arbor makes installation quick and hassle-free.One of the standout features is how well it holds up to prolonged use without losing its effectiveness. Whether I’m removing bark, leveling joints, or smoothing surfaces, this flap disc performs consistently and saves me time.If you're in the woodworking or construction industry, especially for tasks that demand precision and resilience, this is a must-have. Highly recommended!

We bought these in April 2015, on Amazon, for 1/3 the list price, and now are buying more for about 2/3's the price. So I am going to add them to my cart and then "save for later" and watch the price as Amazon notifies you, if you click on your cart, if the price has changed. We are going to hope they decrease in price again and will buy a bunch of them because they are a good product. My husband used these for grinding metal down. He does lots of shop projects, we farm and have CAT equipment he works on, along with fabricating items. He said if you have to move a lot of metal, these work great and leave a smooth finish, and that they are a lot better than an abrasive disc. Said they are excellent. If you don't have rough surface, like torch cut metal, they will last a long time but if you do have a rough cut surface they don't last long and will actually tear apart because these are just made of a bunch of glued together strips of sand paper and if you push them too hard they will rip apart. So for the torch cut metal surfaces, he uses an abrasive disc first and then uses this to polish and he gets a nice smooth surface. Also these are must fast than an abrasive disc, if you have a lot of grinding to do.

I welded a replacement alum. skeg on my outboard and had to thin it down a bit. I was using a little 4" flap disk and it was just taking too long. I bought this one for my 8" grinder. Wow, made short work of the alum. just had to cool it down a few times. Disk did not load up and kept on cutting. I haven't tried it on steel yet but should work great. Just remember to let the disk cut and don't force it.

In my wood art, I use a Milwaukee grinder to shape and sculpt. I have used Diablo 7†discs for a long time and tried the Dewalt, mainly because of delivery. What a difference. The Dewalt 7’ disc tears thru the wood faster and looks like it will last longer. And its half the price.

received my order but the package was empty. They quickly sent out a replacement. A1 in my book. Sanding flap disc works just as it should. I use them for grinding welds flat and the 7" you can hold flat and it doesn't make the grinds wavy
