I bought this for a small space heater that I have down in my crawl space. I didn't want to have to lift up the trap door and get on the floor to reach it to turn it off and on. I drilled a small hole in the floor and put the cord up through the hole and plugged it into this. I have the remote hanging by a nail and when I want to turn it on and off I can do it from up inside the house. It works great. I also plugged in my dehumidifier that is also in the crawl space. I can turn them on and off separately. I can have them both running, one or the other running or both off, all done via the remote. There is also a button on the plug in itself in case you were to lose the remote.

***********Update*****************I've changed my review to 5 stars. I have used this manufacturer before, and had no issues with their controllers until purchasing two of this model. As you can see in my first review, the products were defective, with only about a 10 foot range.DEWENWILS reads their reviews and immediately contacted me. They sent two new updated models with a return label for the defective ones. Bottom line, you can trust this manufacturer to do right by you if you have issues. ****************************I'm disappointed, as this product does not have the 100 foot range specified. As another reviewer mentioned, it's more like 10 feet, and thus worthless. Unfortunately, I bought this controller in March for a summer cabin, and finally installed it on July 3rd, so the return window had closed.

Simple, flimsy, and worked good for a bit and then the remote stopped connecting to the outlet. Very intermittent. Enough so that I stopped using it.

This is a great product. I used it to control small exhaust fans that fit within the spec'd current level. Very handy as designed. The fans are in the attic, controlled from below, and even the the space is only about 10 ft away I seem to get dead spots. As long as I hold it by hand and wave it around a little, it works fine. Would by again for the price seems like a good value.

I was able to put this in my garage and hooked it to a much needed floor light with out running wire to a switch in the house. Awesome. I can now turn on a floor light from my back door with the remote. the light is about 60 feet from my back door and it works great

We have 2 of these. One is used to turn on and off our twinkly patio lights and a little fountain on our back patio. The other I use for astrophotography; I run a heavy duty extension cord out to my backyard imaging scope setup and it feeds this switch. From the house I can switch power to the Celeston CGX-L mount and separately to a power strip that powers the rest of the electronics, such as the mini-pc running N.I.N.A. and the USB hub that powers the cameras, focusers, etc. I have the mini-pc set to boot when it detects power-on, so if I shut down the PC, I can power off the whole setup using this remote switch and then, later, when I want to startup again, I just turn on that channel and the pc will boot automatically and I can then log in remotely from the house. (I used to have to walk out just to push the power buttons then come back inside to log on.) Then I can update software and be ready to take pictures of deep space objects.

I just needed a high amp outdoor plug that could have two things plugged in with a remote. This is for my pond air pump and skimmer pump. I did not realize when I purchased that there were buttons for each outlet and you can turn one or both off/on. This is great because sometimes I need to run the air pump all night, but I turn the skimmer/waterfall pump off at night. With my previous setup, I would have to unplug the skimmer pump, but now, I can just hit the remote and turn it off and leave the air pump going. Such a great feature. I tried to turn the skimmer pump off from the other side of our pond from the pump and the remote did not work. I had to get closer. I will try this out again today. The distance is only like 50'.But all in all I am thrilled and love having the second remote as backup.

Works great, has a good remote range. Can turn on or off outlet 1 or 2 or both with one touch. Working well in -20 Celsius weather.

Most of the remote-switched dual outlets out there are ganged, which is to say that both plugs are switched together. We wanted one where each outlet could be controlled separately from each other, and that was harder to find.This Dewenwils unit turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. It allows us to control the lights and the ceiling fan on our gazebo independently using the six-button remotes. (We bought the one with two remotes so that we could leave one inside the house on a hook and have the second available to take outside with us if we wanted. It’s also nice to have a spare in case one gets lost or broken.)Given the relatively small size of our property, we’ll never challenge the claimed 100 foot range of the remotes, which came with batteries installed and work perfectly. I was initially puzzled by the “programmable†feature noted on the box, but according to the instructions, that actually refers to the unit’s ability to add a new remote; this outlet is not “programmable†in the sense of being able to set times or link it to Bluetooth or anything. That’s fine, I don’t want that ability.One interesting feature we didn’t realize the Dewenwils outlet came with is a built-in switch that can turn both outlets on or off (but only together), a useful thing if you’re outside without a remote and want to shut everything off (or turn it on). A two-colour indicator on the unit’s switch tells you what’s powered – red for one outlet, blue for the other, purple when both are on.As a totally functional and inexpensive solution, this one is a winner.

I'm using it to control an outdoor spot. Without walls, trees or any other object to interfer with the signal (direct line of sight). I'm using it in a dead zone (no other RF signal around) the remotes works just find... may be a bit more the 100'. I didn't test it downtown where RF signals are much more present. To optimize the remote communication, you might have to try many different position to find the optimal one. It's a new device, i don't know how many years the remote would be working at that range. already used the remote at -15C, it's working find (no range reduction for the remote).

First switch only had 5-10 ft transmitter range but, after contacting the supplier, they promptly sent a replacement. The second one has about a 60 ft range which met my expectations (based on other reviews) and is more than I needed. I liked that it had a dual switch/transmitter to control either or both outlets.
