I bought this to control my string lights on our screened in porch. As you can see in the pictures, the outlet is about 10ft up on the wall which worked out great for our lights, but makes plugging things in impossible without dragging out a ladder. Ideally the outlet would have been wired to a switch to begin with, but that isn't the case here. This does exactly what I need it to do with no problems so far.I mounted the remote next to our 3 gang switch box inside the house, and it really doesn't look too out of place to the average person. I chose this product in particular because the remote looks about as close to a 'decora' switch as you can get. The door leading out to our patio is just to the left in the picture, and the outlet is on the exterior wall. There's no problem with communication through the wall. Some reviewers are frustrated it doesn't fit in a standard 'decora' style cover plate like in the picture, but I doubt that was the intended purpose so I can't dock them for that, although that would have been a nice touch. Other reviewers also claim you have to push the button multiple times to get it to function, I find a simple press and hold for a fraction of a second makes it work every time.I really can't find any complains for $17. The best and most reliable option every time would obviously be to wire your receptacle to a switch, but if you can't or don't want to do that a couple minor "quirks" don't seem like a huge deal to me.For what it's worth, there is also an on/off button on the plug in, so if your remote battery dies (and your plug is within reach) you can easily turn it on and off that way as well. I'll likely order a couple spare batteries to keep on hand.Great product, I ordered a second one to have for future projects!

I recently installed a hexagonal multi-light LED fixture in the garage above my car, because I'm a car detail nut and it makes a huge difference. I needed to plug it into the same outlet as the garage door opener. That, in itself, was easy; however, there was no way to turn it off and on without unplugging, etc. I researched a bit and ran across this outlet/switch. Installation is literally plug-and-play. I left the garage door opener on a dedicated outlet, and for the dual outlet, I plugged in the light fixture as well as a garage fan mounted on the ceiling. I painted the switch surround to match my garage and mounted the switch next to the garage door opener controller on the wall. It looks like it came with the house, and it solved my problem. I can now control both the fan and the added LED fixture from the wall switch. Works perfectly.

Update 10/13/2023: The seller got in touch with me and suggested some tests. I told them that I didn't have the unit anymore, so I couldn't try it. They then issued a refund for me! If it is a relatively rare defect, it seems like they're committed to fixing it or making it right for the customer, so I upped the review to 4. I'd rather it just work, but if a seller stands aggressively behind their product, I don't mind the occasional problematic unit, particularly when I liked the design and the price so much.-------------------------------The switch components are nice and rounded and look premium. Installation is trivial since you're probably just sticking up with the enclosed tape, and the plugs are already mated to it. I set it up, tested, it with two lamps that are both within 15 feet, and everything worked great. However, over the next few days, I found that everything did not work great. There are multiple controls so you can turn on/off the lamps individually, or both at once. Nice design, except that actually controlling the lamps was hit and miss. I'd say it was about a 70% success rate, which might seem like a C, but is an F in real life as you keep whapping at the thing trying to get the lamp to go. Oh, and there seems to be a timeout, so if you just hit a couple of times fast...nothing.I finally replaced it with a Tapo, which seems to have a 98% success rate (which makes me think I just hit it wrong once) and haven't looked back.If it worked reliably, it'd be a nice device. Hopefully they can fix it.

I'm disabled and these have been SO helpful, and great for turning lights and the fan on/off in the night. We're having an extra cold snap my central heat can't keep up with so I plugged in a 1500watt ceramic space heater but after about 5mins it was off, and wouldn't turn on and it'd shorted out the 1200watt plug.I'm in a newly built apt with childproof outlets and most are too stiff to plug things into even trying hard, which is why I used this plug. I wasn't aware of the wattage limit. If there's a fuse in it I can replace I'd love to know which 1 to order?

I love this thing!I didn't know I would love it this much, since it's just a little light switch, but it's so convenient and so neat and easy and I just love it. It's simple to use right out of the box. You just plug the adapter to the wall and turn it on with one simple button, then use the switch freely wherever you want because it's ready to go. I stuck my switch to the wall with 3M command strips. Next task for me is to change the fixture beside it to a white version so they both match.I love this thing it's genius.

Ordered these to replace a different manufacturers product whose transmitter buttons had stopped functioning after a number of years use. They work great and we’ve had no issues. The receivers come pre-programmed to specific buttons on the transmitters but you can manually program them as well. Based on that I ordered a second set and programmed additional units to the same button on the original set we purchased. I have 3 units controlled by number 1 on the two original transmitter units to control three separate accent lights in the living room. So right now I am using a total of seven receiver units with the original set of two transmitters…..3 units for accent lights on button 1 and 4 separate lights for buttons 2 through 5. I now have 3 spare receiver units that I can use for anything else I want to use them for and 2 spare transmitter units. A very efficient flexible product.

This works brilliantly!Installation & functionality is very easy. The only frustration is the controller has three buttons but package only comes with two plugs.Buying just one additional plug is sadly not cost effective as price is almost same as this whole package!
