Sharp. They work well. They seem durable. I use them all of my leather projects. They hold up to me whacking them into a cutting board .UPDATE: the largest 2 cutters, which I use RARELY, are quite dull and need a lot more sharpening. I deducted one star for this.

I’m a full-time leathersmith and decided to give these tools a shot for nipping corners on then leather goods like wallets and journal covers. Being a low-cost tool, I wasn’t sure what sort of quality to expect. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with what I received, especially considering the cost.First thing first; do not be under the illusion that these are high-end leathercrafting tools. The construction appears to be consistent with other low-cost imported tools of this nature. That said, I do expect them to give me plenty of reliable service for light-duty use on relatively thin leather.Just as important, the tools were properly and consistently machined and they actually came with a reasonably sharp edge. If you use them as intended with a protective surface under your workpiece, I expect they will hold up well. Even if I do need to replace them every year or two, the cost is minimal.Handles on these are fairly short and narrow. Not a big deal for me, but may be a deal-breaker for others.

The tools are sharp and sturdy. The cuts they make are professional looking. The arc cuts are perfect for 60 - 120 degrees edges.

If its something you need because its cheap it works good, however after two months use they become dull and they will not sharpen back. I might add I am also working on BioThane instead of leather so it might work great with leather but with BioThane it works alright.

After reading the other reviews, I was highly skeptical but decided to give tgem a chance. Even though these are not well crafte or finished well, they are sharp and appear reasonably sturdy. The previous complaint about them not comprising a full quarter-circle is not particularly relevant, since they actually do make a very nice-appearing corner just as they are, at least by the smallest size which is the only one I have used so far. If it formed a more complete arc it would actually be more difficult to align properly without marring the clean line of the straight side portions of the piece. As it is, it makes a smooth transition into the curve of the corner and looks good.It remains to be seen how these will hold up or maintain their sharpness, but for the price you can afford to sharpen them or replace them more frequently if necessary.

Required a lot of sharpening to make them useable.

Two years later assessment:I originally bought this set on November 4th, 2018 and am extremely happy with these. My biggest complaints are that the sizes of the punches are slightly different than advertised, and that the metal is soft enough that after 2 years of heavy use they are becoming deformed, hence 4 stars. You get what you pay for though. $14 for 5 punches that last 2 years is pretty good to me, I can't say that about $14 shoes can I? And shoes don't make me money!! I consider these an excellent return on investment and will be buying this set again to replace my original set purchased in 2018.When I say "heavy use": I am a hobbyist and usually complete 2-4 projects a month, using these 1/4 rounds on just about all of them. For reference, I most often use 5-6oz (2.0-2.5mm) oil-tan.Pros:* They make getting consistently rounded corners a dream.* Mine came very sharp (way sharper than some other tools I've gotten off Amazon or ebay) and they are still very capable of cutting through leather 2 years later.* They came mostly clean (I've received other leather tools that have been absolutely covered in grease. Gross! I still cleaned them, but they were FAR less greasy and grimy than others I've gotten).* Fantastic value for the money! They have lasted me 2 years of heavy use and abuse.Cons:* They are becoming deformed after 2 years, the heads of the punches are bending inwards. See image.* The punches are not the exact measurements in the listing. 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 30mm, and 40mm are advertised, when I measured I found them to be about 1-3mm larger that advertised. Closer to be like 13mm, 16mm, 23mm, 33mm, and 42mm. This doesn't bother me for my use too much. See image. *2 years later I have to give the sizes I use most often another whack with the hammer (still only 2-3 strikes max, usually just to be sure all the corners were cleanly cut). This could be definitely be remedied with some sharpening, but I don't have a whetstone or anything like that.EDIT after receiving the new set:New punches came clean and shiny and sharp, just like the first batch. The new set also has slightly larger dimensions than advertised, but not by as much as the first set I bought. The actual measurements are 12mm, 16mm, 23mm, 31mm, and 43mm. Still super happy with this product and am glad I bought another set.

Not the best built, but you get what you pay for, they are however sharp, have cut 9oz leather with a few light taps, not sure how long the edge will hold, but i can always sharpen them. good variety of arcs.
