The cutter did an excellent job of shortening my belt. The tool was perfectly symmetrical and quite well built. The tools came sharp enough to make a nice clean cut through my leather.Tip... I use a pencil to put a center line mark on the leather and a center line mark on the tool itself. I then visually made sure the tool was aligned properly and made one hit with a 2 pound hammer to make a factory looking cut in my belt.The leather store near me wanted $80 for 1 tool. I got 7 tools from Amazon at a fraction of the price. These tools were even cheaper than what I was quoted by my shoe repair shop to cut the belt.

each cutter / die is extremely crooked. It is OBVIOUS when cutting my material that the edges aren't straight which makes these completely useless. I'm not sure how this even made it past quality control ....

It’s hard to argue the price. High end V punches are rather expensive but you do get precise cuts. Not so much with these cheaper ones.First off, they arrived full. It was comical trying to punch a 6oz strip of leather. So I had to take out the sandpaper and strop out to sharpen them. But that was easily done and were sharp enough when done. But I know that will be a regular thing.While they feel sturdy when striking them (despite the cheaper steel I’m sure) however, they are nowhere near symmetrical. The notch they cut out will always be crooked.So, if you’re making high-end products, spend the money and get the high-end punches. If you’re not so concerned about precision, or looking for a primitive look as I do, then these will do the job.

The ones I have tried have been dull. Would not cut a soft veg tan leather than my exacto would go through like butter. As a work around until I possibly hand sharpen them I will strike them a couple times to get an imprint then use the exacto for the cut. Price was good and they seem the correct symmetrical shape at least.
