Out of the box, I really liked this code reader. I have both a W210 and a W251 chassis vehicle, and had low expectations on reading the W210. But for the W251, this reader has so far already been helpful in diagnosing an air conditioning failure, reading the refrigerant pressure and providing more detail than I could diagnose without a trip to the shop. It also is picking up minor faults on ancillary systems not triggering a CEL, like hatch sensors, which is immensely helpful. The unit seems to be built fairly well, the buttons seem durable, the menus are tolerable to navigate. The manual is not especially helpful or well written, so I had to learn as I went. Hopefully I won't destroy anything while tinkering, but so far I have figured out how to read the OBDII codes, read other system's codes, store these codes on the included memory card, and then recall them afterwards to see what projects I have soon. The unit paid for itself almost immediately, since I was able to tell my mechanic exactly what services I need performed, so from here on out I'm calling it just a bonus. That was all for the W251, though. If you have a W210, don't expect too much - it reads the OBDII functions through both the OBDII port and the 38-pin port, but I couldn't get the unit to read any of the other features besides that. Disappointed, but it wasn't unexpected.Overall, I am very pleased so far, and hope this unit continues to inform me about enough minor issues to make it worth the expense. It's so much less expensive than a STAR reader or some of the more high end scanners that it's almost foolish not to get this unit, and I am happy to have purchased the M-B specific model instead of the multi-car model, which seemed like it would be a compromise in terms of being able to read all key subsystems of the M-B vehicles. At this price point compared to shop costs, I'm fine buying another one if I get another brand of vehicle in the future.

Best in the market even when compared to competitions that are 2x to 3x its price.Complete compatibility with my car GL450. Reads even the hidden codes buried deep in the benz computer.A friend told me (google) there are only a few that can outperform this device and they are all in the multiple fold price of this device.Today, I'm leaving this feedback because it just paid for itself in one use by multiple folds. My car wouldn't respond at all to my smart-key other than the unlock/lock.I'm a shade-tree-wannabe mechanic with my friends (google & youtube) as my consultants. None were able to point me in the correct direction. Except this device. It said EIS low voltage. Sure enough, my battery and accessory battery were both 12.1v only. My initial reaction were it couldn't be correct because 12.1v in my limited experience is still a workable voltage. Then my friend (google) said NOPE, not with this car.Battery change shot up my voltage up to 12.66v. Fixed the problem immediately.BTW, the dealership gave me this quote:$200 diagnostic$300 additional key to rule out key problem$150 to tow my car with special tow truck because car isn't shiftable to neutral therefore can't be towed by "regular" guys.$1500 for the EIS part because they are sure it's the EIS because it's a "common" problem with this model$800 for the labor$$$ tax4-7 days turn around time.------------Sums up to:an Arm and a Leg. Which is equivalent to $XM.Compared my cost with this device:$180 Battery replacement$20 Accessory battery replacement$Tax3 hours total troubleshooting time and installation. This device's cost is not added to this instance because it'll be used for unlimited number of times. If I get to use this 150 times, then per usage cost is $1 only which is negligible, hence not added to the cost.

So….my regular OBD2 had reached its limits to clear up my SRS light. Instead of having to pay an Indy shop to read the code, come back home to correct the issue, and having it cleared at cost, I opted to purchase the iCarsoft and 38 pin adapter. Overall it was a positive experience, having to update the scanner right out the box was easy. Scanning my particular chassis (R129) was relatively easy and intuitive. The scanner recognized 21 modules to include the SRS via the 38 pin adapter. I was able eventually clear my SRS without any repairs needed as it came back with no faults found at first and then with an under voltage on the 15R circuit. Bottomline line, it performs as expected and promised. Only word of advice, vehicle is not as fast as the scanner, be patient for the modular signal to be sent. Exercise patience and update it as soon as you get it via the iCarsoft website. Good luck DIYs!

Pretty decent little scanner. Bought it to see what it can do. It is bidirectional and can do some of the things I needed a scanner for.On the 06 and older it can’t do the injector codes and it can’t change tire sizes for the cluster to read right. It also can’t energize the abs pump to do an exceptional brake bleed procedure. It does do obd2 scans as well as the Mercedes scans both automatic and manual.Over all for the price I’d say it’s worth having as it’s better than most dongles I’ve used with Bluetooth.

I have an Engine light keep coming on for a massively overpriced sensor that doesn't really do anything!I can use this to reset it when i need to or utilise one of the many service functions that are available.Easy to use, easy to store. Great bit of kit.
