I took a leap of faith in buying this crusher after reading so many bad reviews. But I was in hope I could trust the good reviews. Installing this, I just made sure to give stability to both the crusher and the can hopper by first mounting pieces of wood to the wall. I added the photo so that you could see my method. I have been very impressed in how well this works. Much better than my last one that was mostly metal. (I added a photo of the type I replaced as the welds broke from the wall mount. This is just a screenshot, not my actual old crusher) I for sure would buy it again and even recommend it to anyone wanting to spend under $20. Hope this review helps.

First I'd address lots of other reviews; this is made of reinforced nylon. First, nowhere does it say it's anything else, second, we're talking about crushing ordinary soda cans; it isn't metal and doesn't need to be metal. If you expect this to be 3/4" plat steel...don't drink and shop. The boomeresque concept of "plastic is junk" is dying a rightly earned death. For the chore, this is plenty sturdy that it doesn't need to be made out of inch thick sections of high carbon steel.Assembly and install...pretty dang quick and easy. Took like 20 seconds to figure out the nomenclature on the pieces, and it was easy sailing from there. Bore a couple holes 4" apart, run in the screws, done. To anyone who might find install difficult...don't ever buy flatpack furniture or you'll commit hari-kari in desperate confusion.Use? This is the only part to knock. There's a lot of open space around the bottom of the chute so if you drop in the can from the top, odds are good the first will land neatly ready to crush and the second through tenth will bounce out to the floor. But, going slow and being smarter than the tool you're using makes it easier; set the cans in place rather than tossing them in from great height. Working the lever is easier if in the few seconds you handle the can to load it, you dent the sides a bit to get started. (You're not crushing the can by hand, just breaking the tension so the crusher can work with less force required, and thus less wear on the crusher. I feel like 99% of people who decry "cheep playstic" are those who pay rock bottom prices and expect a thousand dollar product.)It's a simple tool. I'm pleased with it. Would I buy another when this one wears out? If the price is the same, $17...yes. Ten times easier on your hands and ankles than crushing them by hand and stomping on them."But, but, but, it doesn't give a perfect crush like stomping them!" It's $17. If you want a crusher than can get it down to molecule thickness...spend more money or design and commission your own and pay $1,000 for a crusher...or just live with this crusher taking the can down to "good enough to sell to a recycler" thickness and only having the cost of a couple big mac's invested.Could this be better? Absolutely. Tighten up the open space around the bottom of the chute for less fiddly loading, little tighter crush on the ram, maybe a bungee to hold the handle up when not in use...but those are not features you should expect on a $17 dollar crusher, and you're crazy if you do! This can masher costs less than two cases of name brand sodas, and with shipping still costs less than three, and most buyers are going to bump their order over $25 to get free shipping anyways. It's hard to complain too loudly about something that does a job adequately without costing a "Made in America" premium $2,000 price.

Followed the directions precisely. Spent a good amount of time on the measurements, actually. I wanted it really neat.Well, it's not possible to install because the screws are too small for the holes they tell you to drill. The unit won't stay in the wall. Now I have several holes in my rental unit wall for no reason thanks to Dial.It seemed like it's impossible to mess up something so simple, but somehow they did. Since it seemed impossible to mess up I figured I could order it well in advance from when I move. I wasn't sure exactly when I'd move but I wasn't worried about being within a return window.Amazon couldn't do anything as a result so I reached out by email from the email on their site and the email bounced. The email they have listed is incorrect. I called to inform them of this and they didn't care. Also wanted to resolve the issue and get money back for the faulty product. The Asian immigrant couldn't speak English well and wasn't actually making much sense or answering my questions. She eventually told me that someone would contact me back, but they never did.Useless product. Useless company. Too bad I'm out this money and can't chargeback, because it would go against my Amazon account instead of the seller. It is a situation where a chargeback would be fair and make sense.. since they are unwilling to communicate and the product doesn't work.

Easy to assemble.. Works like a charm..! So much easier than the one by one can crushers..Sometimes a can will flip into the wrong position but that is a very minor problem.Great value for money..!!
