Used these machines for years at a previous company. When I started my own company, it was at the top of my list on 1st year purchases. Great machine, will pay for itself quickly. The instructions say handheld up to 3†and on a stand up to 6â€â€¦. I can tell you I’ve been using this for years BEFORE reading that, and I had much bigger bits without issue. The clutch is a lifesaver and makes this a safe machine for precarious positions as well. Yes, I’ve used this on an A-frame. If you’re a well versed trade professional, you should be fine with this tool. Careful giving this out to the apprentices- they’ll burn up your clutch quickly. The tool will last, but I’ve seen some guys burn them up as well. Keep that in mind.

I own two of these drills and I'm here to tell you they are great. I do stone coring, granite is my rock of choice, it's not called the rock of ages for nothing. These tools have a soft start and when hand drilling that is a real plus. They have the power to drill down 15 inches in solid rock turning a 3" bit when being hand held. You will not be unhappy with this tool. I tried some other cheaper tools and just burned them up in no time, it's just not worth the hassle to go with the cheap stuff when your life depends on tools.The Germans make some great stuff and this tool is no exception.
