Never used one of these before. I had a stripped thread on one wheel stud (2023 Nissan Frontier) and this little gem worked perfectly to fix it. Make sure you have a 1†socket or wrench for this.

I have many Irwin Hanson tap and dies. They are all good quality for the cost.

It did the job but it took a beating. In all fairness, I asked it to do a very tough job. I need to add about an inch of threads to a grade 10.9 metric bolt which is the equivalent to an SAE grade 8. It took about 12 turns and back offs for each revolution using a 14 inch break over bar. When I was done the bottom of the die suffered significant damage. Considering the low cost of the die and the fact that it did the job I can’t be too disappointed, I just expected better from an Irwin product.
