This is a nice looking lantern. Was worried about leakage as also serves as a functional interior decor piece. Quite delighted that it hasn't leaked one bit. However, it was placed on a plate for many weeks after reading some reviews where leakage was in fact an issue. Nice to have during 'outages' where foolish political agendas insist on total electric, and there happens to be NONE. Was asked "Why this? Don't you have flashlights?" Yup. Sure do, but none run for 12 hours straight for penny$...compared to current insane battery costs. This is a Dietz. Can take outside in snow/rain without fear of shattering globe, as it is tempered glass. Emitts a beautiful glow easily lighting a large room. No smoke or odors if proper lantern fuel is used; globe is still crystal clear after use with a properly trimmed wick. Will probably be ordering a couple more of these.

I've bought several brands of oil lanterns over the years, mostly cheap ones, and I've found that with these things you really get what you pay for. This, and my Dietz Little Wizard, ar by far the most durable lanterns, with never a leak. Don't settle for some $10 piece of trash, spend the extra and get a proper, long lasting lantern from Dietz. Also, I love the massive oil reservoir, this thing lasts forever. Oil lamps are far from the most economical way to light a home but I love the ambience, and of course they're great for disaster preparedness or even just for when the power goes out. Would highly recommend.

A very attractive lantern that puts out quite a bit of light. It takes a full 32 oz bottle of lamp oil to fill and has a 3/4 in wick. The metal is on the thin side and mine had 2 small dents upon arrival, but it is functional and attractive. I was surprised by the size - 7.5 inches wide x 14 inches tall.Very happy with this purchase.

The Good: Shipped with care and packaged well. Filled oil 3/4 full as instructed and have no leaks through cap or bottom seal. Light-weight and works well with Paraffin oil with 3/4" wick. Puts out quite a bit of light and heat. The Negative: Tank cap is not solid brass. Seems to be easier to cross-thread than other lamps I have owned. The lift mechanism is a bit hard to manipulate as I have seen in other reviews. There is quite a bit of resistance so not sure how long the lift arm will last. OK so far though.Overall: A bit above-average in my opinion and I like the lamp so I give it four stars. This seems to be a decent lamp. Attractive and works great. Will work great for light-use but I would not recommend it for heavy every-day use which is why I didn't give it a five.

This lamp is big! It is very well made, does not leak oil, burns a bright light and puts out a very good amount of heat! I am extremely happy with this purchase and will buy more in the future for myself, family, and friends.

Classic look, burns great. This is my second Dietz lantern and I alternate between this one and the #80 Blizzard when I go camping. The Blizzard has a taller globe which gives the feeling of a better spread of light. I highly recommend trying an oil lantern instead of a bright white LED as a tent light source if the situation is safe for you. The warm glow is very relaxing and I get many compliments on the lantern as it is pretty rare is see. At home, I keep them both at home on my fireplace mantel.

Decorative. And worked perfectly from the start. Well packed with care. Attractive. Worth the money. Love it. Would make a great gift. Bought for possible power outages but it’s really pretty and I leave it out as part of my decor in my family room.

En total buen producto pero me llegó con fuga y el aceite salió por debajo . Lástima que no debería pasar.

This arrived from the other side of the world rattling around inside an Amazon box, only protected by thin bubble wrap and a too-short length of air bags.Combined with the fact it's made of pretty thin metal, the globe base is bent and it pushes/rotates the burner off centre each time it's lowered. I have to kind of 'lift' the wick adjuster to keep the flame centred when lit.It might have been an OK lamp otherwise, I like the black & gold... But nothing about this item & delivery screams "worth £85".

Loving this lantern, we do a lot of truck camping and really enjoy the light that this puts out on our campsite.I also purchased a Lantern pole to go with this so I can hang it anywhere around the camp site.Easy to set up and use.
