Brief Description
- This hour meter is a basic gasoline engine hour meter,only record and shows total hours accumulated,which can help you to plan oil changes,air filter cleans,valve services,clutch service,chassis lubrication and other maintenance schedules.
- No power is required,use a cable to wrap the engine spark plug wire.
- It's ideal for use with walk lawn mowers,riding lawn mowers, chainsaws and other garden machinery,rammers and other road machinery,jet ski, outboard motors and other marine industries,motorcycles,off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, pit bike,paramotor and other Vehicle industries,portable generators,RV generators and other generator industries,chippers,weeders,seeders and other agricultural machinery,and other 2/4 stroke gasoline engine equipment with spark plugs.
Hour Meter Function
- When engine is on,it flashes the hourglass and starts to count the working hours.
- Timing range:0.0-99999H.During 0.0-9999.9H,every 6 minutes runs 0.1. During 10000-99999H,every 1 hour runs 1.
- Total running hours is not resettable.
Hour Meter Installation Method
Wrap the Cable
- Insert one end of the inductive cable into the rear slot of the hour meter completely.
- Wrap another end of the inductive cable to the engine spark plug wire for more than 5 circles,then fasten with zip tie.
- The length of inductive cable is 1.1m,if it is too long,you can cut it.
Screw Installation
- In most cases it is fixed with two screws.
- You need to drill two mounting holes in the surface of the device.
- The distance of the two holes is 38.3mm.
3M Tape Installation
- Some users do not want to drill holes on the device, and can choose to use 3M double-sided stickers to install.
- Before sticking, the mounting surface needs to be wiped clean.Otherwise,it will not stick firmly,which will cause the hour meter to fall.
Waterproof Hour Meter
It is completely waterproof design,IP68,can be well used in a rainy day.
- The battery is built-in and sealed with epoxy glue.
- The LCD screen is sealed with a rubber gasket, which plays a waterproof role.

I have a few of these, I put them on every small engine. I have one that is about 5 years old, still working fine. Takes just a few minutes to put them on a new engine.

Installed this on my new Honda EU3000is generator. Install is very easy, length of the pickup wire is ample for my generator. Came with 2 small screws and 1 piece of 2-sided 3M adhesive tape. I used both.Dislike:The ONLY dislike I have is not being able to change the internal battery whenever it runs out in a few years.Wants/Wishes:(1)The ability to pre-set hours if you are replacing another one that has failed.(2)Needs a backlight(3)The ability to change the internal battery when it eventually runs out

Put this on my new portable generator for keeping track of services. Easy to install and seems to work as advertised. (Imagine that!)

I’ve purchased similar hour meters with tachometers in the past and the batteries only last a year or so. Will give the hour meter only style a try to see if the battery lasts long enough for the gauge to be useful. Installation is simple – no setup required, just attach and add a few turns of the wire around the sparkplug lead.

This works well and is super easy to install. Simply wrap the wire around a spark plug wire five times. Secure the wraps with a zip tie. Then route the wire to your mounting location for the hour meter. You can wrap excess wire or cut it to length. This works by sensing the electrical pulse and causes the meter to start blinking indicating that it counting. Turn your engine off and it stops counting while displaying total elapsed time. Simple to use and works with any gas engine.

Works and the price is right- update stoped working at 5.5hrs. Not sure why no power to the unit at all. Had to buy a new one Only has a 30 day warranty
