I’ve done disc brake pad changes for 45 years and always used a heavy screwdriver or pry bar to push back the piston. This makes life so much easier and saves a lot of hassle. Can use the knob to turn or a wrench on the hex. Do yourself a favor and buy it now.

I ordered this to replace an inexpensive one that I've used for many years and the threads finally wore out. The threads on this one are much more substantial and the plate is much thicker. The extra hex part where you can use a socket on is also a nice feature.
