About this item

  • Air Chief industrial interchange quick connect plug for connecting directly to a hose with a male NPT end to connect with a female NPT threaded connection
  • 1/4" Air Chief industrial interchange quick connect plug with a 1/4" male NPT threaded end
  • Valveless construction allows flow when disconnected
  • Brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability
  • Interchanges with MIL-C-4109F/A-A-59439 specifications for quick-disconnect couplings for hoses and portable pneumatic tools, but not water or fluids, at maximum working pressures up to 232 psi (16 bar)

This Dixon DCP21B brass Air Chief industrial interchange quick-connect 1/4" air hose plug has a 1/4" male NPT threaded end, valveless construction, and connects to Air Chief industrial interchange quick connect couplers. The female National Pipe Thread (NPT) connection end connects to male threaded connections. Brass is corrosive resistant, ductile at high temperatures, and has a low magnetic permeability. This plug's maximum operating pressure (MWP) is 300 psi (20.41 bar) at 70 degrees F in an operating temperature range of -40 to +250F (-40 to +121.11C) with a flow rating 37 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at 100 psi. The valveless construction allows flow when the plug is disconnected. This plug conforms to MIL-C-4109F/A-A-59439 specifications for quick-disconnect couplings for hoses and portable pneumatic tools, but not water or fluids, at maximum working pressures up to 232 psi (16 bar). It is used for air service only.

Hose fittings connect, control, change the direction of, and terminate the flow in piping and hose systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and other materials that resist corrosion, pressure, and wear. Hose fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, barbed, push-to-connect, dry disconnect, and others including those based on internationally-accepted specifications. Hose fittings are used in systems such as air compressors, automatic manufacturing operations, aircraft controls, and tire installation in industries including agriculture, mining, road construction, firefighting, and aviation.

Dixon Valve & Coupling Company manufactures pipe and hose fittings and accessories. The company, founded in 1916, is based in Chestertown, Maryland.

I have been buying and using these for10-12 years now, I am a Roofing contractor. Before I used these, I bought the steel versions from whoever was cheapest. They usually would leak, some right from the start some a little later, some only a little bit some a lot. Getting a long-lasting leak free fitting was unusual. Once I started buying the Dixon version and their couplers (DCB20) my leaking fittings problem stopped. Leaking fittings cause air pressure changes at the nail gun which effects the setting of nails and it causes the jobsite compressors to run more than needed adding wear & tear and noise. I keep buying them because they continue to be leak free. we go through a nail gun or two and a hose or two per year and just put new fittings on each time. the old ones get reused in the shop or go home with someone.

works well, affordable, seems durable, i installed it into my air blower and impact wrench and they all seemed to get in okay.I used teflon tape to help slide them in, and seal the air leak.

Low cost and good quality for the price. You can pay much more and get the best, but I use the air hose sparingly and this has performed very well for my use. If I was needing one for a commercial shop, I would consider something more "industrial".

Not much more to say. These things tend to disappear like socks into alternate dimensions. This one works just fine, as expected. Hi ho!EDIT- i don't know why i didnt mention this before but this is a terrible price. You can get four of these for this much at Harbor Freight, and occasionally at the Home Depot.

Absolutely some of the best connectors EVER! Work well, with no leaks. Of course, when you are dealing with metal to metal connections, you need to use some silicone tape, but that's to be expected. Use can couple of wraps and no problems! Highly recommended.

Returning. I bought a bag of 10 and one of them didn't even have threads on them and ALL the shafts were too large to fit in the coupler I bought with these.

Worked as expected, made of brass, seems well built. It does not make breakfast, it does not cut the grass and it also won't make you any skinner. It will however connect your air tools to your air compressor. Yay Brass Fittings!!!
