Your cart is empty.DMC silver label aida 16 count soft tube is 100-percent cotton fabric. Its precise square-patterned weave with visible stitching holes makes this fabric easy to use and allows your needle to easily glide through the holes. The number or count indicates how many squares are available per-inch of fabric. Each square represents a cross stitch. The smaller the fabric count the larger the holes. This fabric has 16 stitches per-inch. DMC Aida fabrics have a wonderful finish and are available in a variety of types. It is packed in soft tubes, a plastic sheath that fits more eaches per peg hook than the traditional hard tube. It can be washed in 60-degree celsius, 140-degree fahrenheit water. Dry flat. If necessary iron between two towels. Available in white color. Measures 18-inch length by 15-inch width.

This is very nice cloth. It is real cotton. It is thick enough & stiff enough to have a solid feel but easy to put in a hoop. It is packaged in a roll so there are no creases from folding. I have always used 14 count cloth before, but the pattern looks so good in 16 count that I will most likely use that size again. I will definitely buy DMC Aida cloth again & I prefer it to other brands that I have tried.

This is a good quality fabric. You can get cheaper, but, you get cheaper. It will hold up well during stitching and washes like a dream. I've tried the rest, but, I always come back to the best.

I forgot that the bigger the number the smaller the squares but that is okay I can still use this for other projects.

My fault for being a newbie and not knowing what size (count) to buy. But it would have been helpful if there had been a picture showing the count so I could compare. Unfortunately while good for a small project, the count was too small for the really large one I had in mind.

I'm new to cross-stitch, but not new to sewing. The cloth I received wasn't blocked properly so the warp and weft threads had a leftward lean. While it does soften up (at least while using the "sewing method" for cross stitch--I imagine less so if you're doing poke-and-stick method on a hoop) and can be reblocked (squared) to a degree by steaming and pressing, it's not what I was expecting. If I were doing a large scale project, I'd be horrified--your thread tension will never recover.Further, the double warp/weft threads were not consistent in their placement. If you need to do a line of 3/4 stitches, good luck.It arrived "rolled" but in thin plastic sleeve packaging, so it was basically folded. It worked fine for my small project, but I wouldn't buy it again and would warn anyone planning on a big project to invest in something higher quality.
