The Ultra 'O' is a true oval carabiner, rated at 25 Kn (5,260 lbs.) in the closed and locked position. It is outstanding in quality and function. I use it for textiles, pulleys, and mechanical ascender/descender devices. It has an 'I-beam' cross sectional profile, which makes it suitable for a variety of devices that specify a carabiner with an I-beam cross section.

It has all the quality you would expect from DMM. The gate opens well and this carabiner fits the Pinto Pully (many carabiners are too small) very well. The first time I was able to use it was actually working on a 10/12 roof as part of a Horizontal Life Line, but it will get put into my standard tree climbing setup once I am done with that project.

Overall, I really like the smooth feel of the body and action on this carabiner. It took some practice before I could open them with one hand, but they easy to work with. Shortly after I got them, I had one fail to close automatically. It was not stuck on a burr and the spring felt normal. It snapped shut when I barely touched it, but I was able to reproduce it one time (after a considerable amount of fiddling). It worked flawlessly after that.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I can't easily operate this Krab one handed
