My three mature dogs, 5 to 14 lbs., transitioned to new steps from the ugly plastic steps with no difficulty. They were easy to assemble, though it came with velcro patches for the bottom rungs that did not work for me--they broke in half no matter how careful I was, which accounts for the 4 rather than 5 stars. I was mostly interested in finding steps that were less ugly, affordable, stable and acceptable to my dogs. On all my criteria, I was very satisfied.

These are the best. My dog is 20lb. I have ordered practically every stair out there. They are always to wide... To steep... To narrow... Or the step isn't deep enough. Love these and so does my elderly cockapoo.

this might be OK for tiny dogs but it has no stability and no traction, and it falls over out from under any medium and large dog. not safe for medium and large dogs

Would recommend wearing safety glasses when putting this together. Everything went great till the last step, snapping the plastic feet in place on the bottom of the steps. Now only 4 are needed but my steps came with 7. Well only 2 out the 7 survived installation. The other 5 exploded when trying to install. So I'm guessing the company knows this is a problem and they really should maybe send like 10-15 to better your odds of getting 4 installed. Good thing it also comes with stick on rubber pieces. If not for the rubber pieces my dog would definitely crash and burn trying to use these to get on the bed. The steps are very soft though.

Finally, dog stairs that are actually worth a hoot. These were a huge back saver. Excuse any typosnpls as I'm leaking water from my eyes like a waterfall. Our senior pittie had what they at 1st thought was vertigo but turned out to be a brain tumor. He used to sleep w/us all of the time but once hubby didn't get home until 3am, my baby had to keep an eye on things. My sweet boxer angel, the pitties brother for 11.5 yes passed away in March so my pittie decided he needed to lay beside me to protect me since the boxer wasn't anymore. He was a short Lil meatball & our bed is a little high. We were good w/the scrappy steps until he developed a head tilt (that's how we found out about the tumor) . Then those steps were no longer wide or high enough since his equilibrium was off. These came up to maybe 2 inches lower than the bed. They are just a little wobbly so I had to put my foot on the bottom rail to keep them steady . He would hop right up them though. They were plenty wide enough to you don't have to worry about them falling off of the side. They come out pretty far but, that's a good thing because the steps are plenty deep enough as well. He was long in the back but could still stand w/all 4 feet on one step. If your dog is arthritic like he was, this is an awesome feature. We only got to use them for about 2 months before he decided we would just sleep in the floor, it made him happy, he wouldn't rest unless mommy snugged up w/him so for 2 months we piled up in the floor. I'm so grateful these perfect for big dog steps gave me so many nightly cuddles, he's no longer w/me so I'll cherish those snugs until I see him again. No one snuggles like a pit bull, they love their close as you can get cuddles. The only thing you will have to do to put them together is screw the treads down and put the feet on the bottom.

The parts of these three-layer stairs look quite weak and not that well-made, which worried me a bit. Assembling it was fast and easy, and the assembled product became surprisingly as sturdy and stable as possible for this type of product. The frame is made of iron, which is prone to rust, but since it is used indoors, it is fine. The staircases are made of plywood, which is much better than particle board types.Although these stairs take up a good amount of space, orienting them along the side of the bed instead of perpendicular to it will fix the problem. Volume-wise, most of these stairs are empty spaces, making them much less bulky than the foam stairs or ramps. It is also much easier to clean or vacuum the area below them. The staircases are slightly sloped down, making it easier for dogs, especially the smaller ones, to go up or down.I would not order these stairs if the covers of the staircases were not removable and washable. The fabric covers are textured, thus providing a non-slip surface with more traction. The six non-slip feet should be more elastic. They are too brittle, thus one of them broke in half while being inserted onto the bottom of the frame.By the way they are built, I do not see any reasons why these stairs should not be durable and reliable, especially when our dog is a small chihuahua-miniature-pinscher mix. Our dog and I like these stairs, and we recommend them.
