After six months of attempting to fly while tethered, my dog snapped through the leash on her run. I didn't want to have to replace the whole line, so I bought this one to attach to the existing run. It works great, glides along smoothly, and resists the considerable efforts of my big doggy as she tries to snap it to run after the neighbors.

My German Shepherd broke loose by snapping the metal hook and that was the first time using while camping. So quality isn't so good.

This is a great item. My only complaint is that our dog has managed to put a couple of knots in the cable which will probably take some work in a vice to get out, and may damage the coating. But overall, well made and the spring clip has held up being outside, occasionally laying in the de-icing salt on the front stoop, so the hardware is not cheap.

I have 2 pit mixes (60lb American pit terrier & plott hound mix; 70lb staffy pitt, lab, rot mix) that are incredibly strong. My rotten pit breaks every tie-down I have ever gotten her! This is the only one that she hasn't snapped in less than a month! (Note: my girls are only on the tie-down for short periods of time, not all the time, and never left alone outside. They are spoiled house pups.)Plus the pretty purple is easy to see in the grass, and the price is perfect!

I am a dog trainer and this is a go to for working with mouthy puppies. It is not fun for them to put their mouths on but the plastic wrap around the cable keeps their little mouths safe too. I like that these are longer leads too which makes them ideal for recall. They would also work well as a tie out if you use a treeline tie instead of a ground-stake ( - an unsupervised dog could hurt themselves if they got this wrapped around themselves).

Very durable and lasts. The only thing we have an issue with is sometimes it comes off the stake, not sure how but it does. If you don't plan to remove the clip from the stake I would recommend putting glue on the "casing" that screws the clip closed to keep it secure do to it unscrewing occasionally. We cannot because we remove them to mow and keep the stake in the ground.

The clips on my other tie-outs get sticky over time. This one is much more effective as you clip and screw them in. I'm not saying it won't get sticky too, but WD-40 works with all tie-outs. You have a double wammie for security with this one. Yes buy it!
