This little trimmer does what it says it will. It's quiet, quickly and easily trims hair out of our German Shepherd's paws, and while he isnt thrilled to have someone messing with his paws, was willing to lay quietly enough and let me finish the job without too much drama. This would also be an excellent little tool to trim around wounds, or skin issues that need medicating, if necessary, because if gives you the ability to be very precise in what you trim. The fact it is cordless is great because you don't have the hassle of a cord getting in the way. Great little tool.

I think this will work well for smaller dogs, but was too narrow and did not work for my Newfie.

I love this cutter for my dogs ears and paws. The sound is minimal and my dog is not afraid and allows me to do what I need to do.
