Beautiful stainless. At first, I though the plate was painted but then I realized there is a protective cover that needs to be removed. It fits our door perfectly.

This item was an extreme disappointment...twice. Not for the quality or lack of intended function, but for the inaccurate dimension measurements in the description. It is not 4.25" wide, as the description states. It is well over 5 inches wide. On the first order, I thought it was merely an error and was sent the wrong size by mistake. I returned it, and ordered again. Unfortunately, the second was the same as the first. I was very disappointed, as this piece is exactly what I need, but a window on the door only allows a maximum on 4.5 inches, so this piece would not work. I have been unable to find the correct size, so this was not a good experience...times two.

It solved the problem of a door with holes that match a lock that went out the market years ago. The door needed to be sanded down to make this plate fit and allow for door closing. It looks reasonably good but it registers all fingerprints.
