This is a good, quality jig. It fit well and worked well for my use. It also feels sturdy, not cheap and flimsy.

The blade is bigger on the end than the bearing so it doesn't matter if you hold it parallel it's still going to be cutting part of the template. The other issue is securing to the jamb accurately, the hinges have to be precise to avoid operation issues especially when your matching a new jamb to an old door. The radius has no other options othe than the one size. It needs a secure and accurate way to attach it to the jamb. Maybe some thumb screw clamps? Overall this is just another garbage product that wasted my time and set me back $500 bucks on a job because it wanted my time and I can't bill the customer for a lousy and useless tool. To the good reveiws on here, your getting paid to leave them because I would NEVER recommend this tool to anyone, it is absolute trash. Waste of time.. As a vendor how can you justify waisting people's time to turn a buck, you are trash.

We needed to change the swing of a door for a tenant. This made it a piece of cake as they say. Took the door off, turned the hinges around on the door, laid it up on the other side, Mark the location of the hinges, and then used this template with a small handheld router to cut out the wood or the new hinges. But the door back screwed it in, how easy it is to use. I was surprised the alignment was perfect this template performed well and made for a very neat and clean installation and saved us a bunch of time.

The product is sturdy and well-designed if you're building doors from slabs and loose jamb stock. If you need to add a hinge to a door frame that's already installed (as in my situation), you're out of luck. The jig won't fit over the jamb's interior stop. You could build a jig for this jig to offset it over the interior stop, but then you could make your own jig and skip buying this altogether. Again, it's well designed, super easy to use, comes with reusable nails and a router bit, but it's only useful for loose jambs that have yet to become a door frame. No other review seems to point this out, so hopefully others can learn from my mistake. If you want to add a hinge to an existing door frame, try the Milescraft jig.

I modified it a bit to make many doors without using the nails for the jig. It's really a game changes to put hinges. I used for 1/4 and 5/8 radius and worked perfectly. Thank you for selling an excellent product!

Works very well. But the instruction are not worth much. Used the old trial by error method to get a good understanding of it's operation. Then the instructions made a little more sense. Made of plastic and probably will not last to long. A slight miscalculation with the router will destroy it. Could not find the name of a dealer or a manufacture where you could purchase parts from.
