Flat, 2 prong lacing needles have frustrated me for 30 years. The lace tends to pop loose in tight spots, or the teeth tear right through or get bent because they are poorly made and stick out too far. Not to mention the eye staying bent open by the second use. You lace, you know. But I was working on a project that needed a flat needle, so I bought a few different kinds, including these at the laughable price of nearly $5 each!They don't look a lot different at first, but you can feel the better quality immediately. I could easily open to insert lace, and the prongs pierced the leather immediately and set with a light touch of the pliers. And I just laced an entire book cover without a single pull-off.So anyway, I've not even tried any of the others I bought that day. A great bargain at the price, even with a usually giveaway product. Sometimes even an old hand gets a surprise.

I had bigger leather cord so I clipped it in the tool and used a little duct tape and it threaded great! Super fast shipping
