Worked great for my 2001 F250. Seems as solid as the OEM. Super easy to install. Fixed my shifting issues.

Had to put it in neutral to start it until I replaced this switch. Now it starts as it should . Park and neutral both work to start it. Lots of rust so switch was hard to replace, but I did it. BTW it shipped pretty fast.

I bought this sensor because I was having issues with my truck not wanting to start due to not detecting the truck was in park or neutral and also because moving the shifter was very difficult. It fixed both these issues! To take the old one off, I had to use a crowbar and essentially bend it off, it popped off and some of the plastic ring was a bit damaged. In order to put the new one on, I had to file down a bunch of rust that had accumulated on the knob, once I did that, it fit snugly with no issues. Works great!

The bolt-up and wiring harness were an exact fit, but the disk that the transmission lever goes thru requires a greater force to rotate than I like, seems that it won't last long with the limited surface area to torque on before it wear out like the original (wallowed out contact surfaces).

2000 Ford F-350 SD w/4R100. Pulled fault code P0705, indicating faulty transmission range sensor. Replaced digital transmission range sensor (aka TRS) in 10 minutes with Dorman p/n 511-101 via Amazon Prime. Exceptional value, fast shipping, direct bolt-on replacement. Highly recommended.Difficulty:EasyTools:8mm wrench or equivalent.Procedure:1) ENGINE OFF, SET PARKING BRAKE, BLOCK WHEELS (you will be under the vehicle).2) Place transmission shifter in Neutral.3) Locate transmission range sensor on the outer left (driver) side of the transmission.4) Disconnect the wiring harness by depressing the small tab on the plug and pulling gently5) Remove the two 8mm attaching bolts and slide the TRS off of the manual input shaft6) Adjust the new TRS by turning the center ring until the line on the center ring lines up with the line on the TRS body marked Neutral.7) Slide the new TRS on to the manual input shaft, install the two 8mm bolts.8) Reconnect the wiring harness.9) Place transmission shifter in Park.

Arrived on time and in great condition. Installed it on a 2003 F250 7.3 Diesel 4R100 transmission. Easy to install and still functions after 4 months.

There were some annoying issues out of the box. After removing my old sensor, I discover the metal spacers are in the wrong slots (as in the photo here) for my F150 4x4. No problem I thought, I gently wiggled out the spacer and put it in the upper slot in line with the other to fit my transmission. Connector fit perfectly and at first glance as I started to re-assemble to the transmission, I noticed the spacers still didn't look right to me. It turns out not only were they in the wrong slots, but double the thickness of the OEM unit and could not be mounted as is. I ended up breaking the spacers out of my old unit and then gently installing them in place of the crap spacers put in this one while in ROC where it was made. Look at the photos closely and compare to yours. Save your old switch just in case this one does not fit perfectly out of the box. A 15 minute fix turned into over an hour, and still didn't make my back up lights work.

2004 Ford F-150 4.6L 2WD 275K miles. Pulled codes. Cleaned the plug with electronic contact cleaner. Installed this new unit like the old one. These units are the same across many transmission variants, but the mounting varies. I used the small rectangular spacers from my original unit. Truck is running fine, no more check engine light.

Bought this for my 2002 class hurricane RV. F53 chasis. Service engine was on and selector was really stiff. Good price and did the trick. Gear selector back to normal and light out. Code gone 😀

The CEL came on so I scanned for codes and it came back with P0705. Replacing the old Transmission Range Sensor with this new Dorman unit fixed the problem.
