Installed a new head unit with 2 USB ports. My 2011 Silverado only has 1 USB port from the factory. I removed the 12v power outlet on the left under the climate control and replaced it with this USB port. Works like a charm.

this fit nicely in my 2013 chevy silverado. i you tubed a video how to do it and was able to swap out in under 10 minutes.

I replaced one of the 12v sockets in the dash on my 2010 GMC Sierra. It does fit in the space, but it doesn't fit WELL. The door/cover has a tight hinge compared to OEM, so if you are going to be opening and closing the cover you will notice just how poorly it sits in the dash. It'll wiggle. The USB port itself is fine. No looseness there. The cover is flat compared to the slightly bulbous cover on the OEM version so it does kinda stick out.All in all, it functions fine. But it doesn't fit very well and it's noticeably different, visually, than OEM. Last I checked a GM parts vendor the OEM version, that you have to buy in two pieces, was just a few bucks more than this Dorman version. Like some other buyers I think I'll send this back and buy OEM.EDIT: it failed after a few months. Complete trash. Bought the OEM version and couldn't be happier.

The product was pretty cheaply made for doreman quality. Didn't fix my problem but that's not the products fault.

Popped in no problem. Be careful of plastic dashboard as older it it is the more likely to crack. I got away with lifting out just the corner to get it in.

2013 Avalanche, had to force it to go into the lighter hole which damaged the flip lid. it stated in the description that it would fit it does not fit like it should. not very happy. Would not recommend if you're looking for a direct fit.
