Are used these to replace the parking brakes on my 2001 Toyota Tacoma double cab TRD. The kit is very comprehensive in that it includes everything you need. However, the nylon washers that you’re supposed to fit in between the mounting bracket and the arm do not have enough room to slide in. I ended up installing a washer on one side of the arm instead of both sides and then used a thick antiseize on all the joints/moving components to ensure they wouldn’t seize up or rattle around. After install everything worked great. Don’t forget to install a little thread locker on the 12mm headed bolts that mount the bracket to the rear drum housing and maybe a little on the adjuster bolt once you know it’s approximate resting position. While you’re servicing the parking brake, also ensure your parking brake cable moves freely and returns to fully slack position after you release the parking brake so that your rear shoes don’t rub in the drums and cause premature shoe lining wear.

Came with everything needed to replace the bell cranks on my 2002 ext cab 4x4. Fit great! The neoprene washers were a tight fit but with some patience, grease and wiggling it made a nice tight fit. Comes with grease which i don’t see pictured. Also, not sure why there are 4 springs? My tacoma only required 2.

The pivot pin hole in one of the pivot housings wasn't completely drilled through. I had to drill it out myself. Then the same housing was too narrow to accept the pivot plate. I had to file it in order to make it work. I'm a reasonable guy, not prone to writing bad reviews, but quality control here was completely unacceptable.

For the most part, I was able to replace the parking brake bell cranks on both wheels but not without some issues, unfortunately. I took away one star because one of the nylon washers was missing. I took away two stars because one of the parts "broke."While attaching the bell crank hinge (the piece that attaches to the back of the drum with two bolts), one of the holes stripped. I loosely screwed in both bolts, then slowly started tightening the first one when I realized it wasn't compressing the lock washer and wasn't getting tight. I took it all apart and out came a nice coil of the threads from the hinge. Thankfully, the original OEM hinge was still in usable shape so I wound up using that on both wheels.Going forward, I'd recommend paying a little more for a better quality kit.

An affordable, and decent replacement for the OEM bell crank. The OEM parts can run $160 for the set, so at $40 for these there is no better option that I have found. I only needed one assembly, driver side, because some old snow chains somehow caught the original bell crank and badly sheared it making it inoperable. Figured it would be an expensive fix so I put it off long enough, until I decided to try myself. Found this set.As another reviewer commented, the nylon washers and lock rings were tricky. The nylon washers (see pic) were, for me, the most frustrating aspect of the entire assembly. The fit is extremely tight and the washers easily curl/bend, making for quite a challenge. With some grease and perseverance I finally managed to line them up correctly. The second frustrating part was the lock rings (not pictured). As the other reviewer mentions the lock rings were straight on the inside and not horshoe-shaped as I believe they should be. I struggled to get them on and nearly broke one trying to clamp it tight with pliers. Still made it work, but it would be far better if they were machined correctly. This is my main reason for 4 stars instead of 5.Install wasn't difficult if you're considering doing it yourself. You do have to remove the drum to access the two bolts on the inside that hold the assembly in place (see pic). There are good instructions online: a very detailed writeup by Mark G Evangelo (ASCE certified Master Technician) I found on a 4Runner forum) was especially helpful; they reference a Tundra but is essentially the same process. For someone with no experience in drum brakes, it took me about 3-4 hours, but much of that time was just going slow and being thorough. Someone with experience can probably do this in under 1.5 hours.Works great so far. For the price I recommend this product. Hope this info helps.

This replacement set worked great on my 2001 Toyota Tacoma TRD. My originals were completely siezed and corroded, so I decided to replace the whole assembly on each side. My only two complaints are: 1. The lock rings that slip onto the swivel pins in the house are straight and do not have any tension on them...I had to slightly bend them before putting them on so that they would stay on. Also, these housing pins should have cotter pins in them the same way that the swivel pins at the cable connections do. 2. There are two white neoprene washers that you are supposed to slip between the bell crank and housing where the swivel pin goes through...the opening of the housing is too narrow to fit both washers along with the bell crank arm itself! But I'm happy with the install and would recommend these as a replacement.
