Original equipment throttle bodies often fail when moisture and oil intrusion foul the internal electronics. This Dorman OE FIX throttle body features Dorman Sensor Shield technology, a proprietary butterfly shaft seal to prevent future failures from this contamination. This part is compatible with the following vehicles. Before purchasing, enter your vehicle trim in the garage tool to confirm fitment. I started an issue with my car. One day I looked in the engine compartment and decided it was a good idea to clean it out. Drove over to the car wash, popped the hood and started blasting. Yes, I am an idiot. When I was done, I got back in my car and went to start it up. The check engine light came on, the car showed reduced engine power, something about the stabilitrack was wrong. Luckily my house was down hill from the car wash and I was able to get the car home without a tow truck. I have an ODBC code reader and the two codes the car was throwing was P2135 and P2176. I waited a couple days to give the engine compartment time to dry out. Disconnected as many electrical connections I could find and sprayed wire dryer on them, let them dry and reconnected. After all that, I was still getting the two codes and all the reduced engine power and stabilitrack issues. After some research I decided it was time to replace the electronic throttle body.I have always been happy with Dorman products. There were several other brands I have never heard of when I looked on Amazon that were $5-$10 cheaper, but decided to stick with a brand I have used in the past. It was an easy job to do and the part fit perfectly on car. I will also say, I looked at two of the brick and mortar auto parts stores and this exact product was over $100 more to buy from them. Due to the $100 savings I was willing to wait for the time it took to ship me the product. After installing the throttle body, I turned on the car and all issues were gone. I didn't need to clear the codes with my ODBC reader, they were gone. (I did have the battery disconnected for 3 days). I took the car for a drive going through stop and go traffic, then about 10 miles on the freeway doing about 70 and no issues. At the time of writing this review I have put about 50 miles on my car since the fix and still no issues. Very happy with the product, it was an easy fix. Due to the price online it cost less than $100.I guess all and all it was a fairly inexpensive stupid decision I made to clean my engine compartment. Or you could say it was a really expensive car wash.

The girlfriend's car (2018 Buick Encore, 1.4L) kept randomly setting off the P2135 (Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor) code. Most common fix according to my BlueDriver code reader was throttle body replacement. Tried cleaning the original one with no improvement. Shopped around at the typical local auto parts stores and found this exact Dorman TB (same serial number) available for $180-$220!! Highway robbery when it's available here on Amazon for under $100!I actually went and bought (and later returned) one of the expensive ones from a local parts store just to compare it to this one when it arrived. They were EXACTLY the same. Even the packaging was identical.Installation wasn't as easy as I had hoped because the four bolts that hold the TB on are crazy torx style female bolts and there wasn't a lot of room to work thanks to a metal wiring harness holder in the way that you can't remove while the TB is in place...but in the end I got it done in about an hour. Perhaps your replacement will be easier if you have a different GM model or year.No codes since the replacement about two weeks ago! And the car is noticeably peppier and getting better fuel mileage so it's a win both financially and functionally.Durability wise, so far so good, its only been a couple of weeks but I expect it'll last for the rest of the life of the car (it's at 120,000k).

Had a CEL on my 2012 Cruze LTZ/RS with 1.4 Turbo for issues with throttle body unit (TBU) leak/needs cleaning. Tried cleaning previous throttle body and still got CEL. Said SCREW IT and bought this unit. PERFECT fit and results. During test drive after installing new unit, car idles better, smoother and response to gas pedal has improved! Definitely recommend this throttle body if you are having CEL light for TBU. Disconnected battery for 10 mins and NO PROGRAMMING resetting issues. VERY simple plug and play.

Replaced my throttle body on my 2012 Chevy Sonic, worked for a week and then completely failed and wouldn’t work at all, had a shop look at it and just had them replace it with Genuine GM and has worked great ever since, don’t waste your money.
