I read the negative reviews so I wore gloves, I didn't need them as a matter of fact no tools at all are needed. What I did in the precise order it was done:Connect regulator hose to the generator.Connect adapter to the regulator end of hose.Screw on 1 lb propane bottle to adapter. No tools, no leaks.Adapter DOES NOT HAVE A CHECK VALVE.I used 3.2 oz of propane running the generator for 14 minutes with a 1,240 watt load. Generator ran smoothly. no leaks, no hiccups. This adapter did exactly what I need it, SAVE my back. When I was done with the test I reversed the order from before:Unscrew propane bottle from adapter ( I did this 3 times to make sure the first time was not a fluke).Unscrew adapter from regulator.Unscrew hose from generator.I never disregard when someone here has a bad experience with a product, however with the adapter that was sent to me everything worked perfectly and I do recommend the adapter, it worked without leaks and there was no gas spraying from bottle. I recommend keeping propane bottle fully upright during connecting and use.Excellent product, no complaints.

Adapted a portable gas fire pit to a 16.4 ounce gas canister from the 20 lb tank. More room in the car for the other camping stuff and, the fire pit burns for 4 hours on that little can. I highly suggest getting the propane canister refill valve as you can reuse the disposable canisters an infinite number of times. This practice saves umpteen amounts of money in that the canisters cost around $4.99 in the stores and the refill with the valve is about 70 cent worth of propane, let alone not jacking the landfill with more s…

Very nicely made and shipped in good time. I lived in a fifth-wheel trailer for over three years that had two propane tanks, which was a nice arrangement. When one tank ran out - say, in the middle of the night - the second tank was right there and ready to go. These days, I have a cargo trailer build and at the moment, there's just one tank. When I heard about this adapter for a 1 lb green bottle (which I always have several of), available for one of those "middle-of the- night" scenarios I ordered one right away!

PRO: This hooked up my fire ring to a 16 oz. cannister no problem. For the non-Einsteins out there: You screw the adapter into the appliance (grill, ring, whatever) FIRST, then screw the bottle into the adapter. The appliance is the end that will have an OFF position to keep propane from flowing. If you screw the adapter onto the bottle first, you're just opening the bottle to empty out what's inside.CON: The 16 oz. cannister apparently didn't have enough pressure to create a big flame vs. a regular 20 lb. tank. It started out fine, but within 4-5 minutes, the flow slowed considerably and there was just a small flame. Your results may vary depending on what you are connecting to.

I wasn't sure it would fit onto the tree piece, so I could use my standing cooker and other components, but it did. Wallah. Perfect!

I bought this adapter to use on my 1lb refillable tank. It adapts to my Harbor Freight weed burning torch. No leaks and well made product. No instructions included. Hook the adapter to the hose first, then to the tank. This is very important. Unscrew the tank from the adapter, then remove adapter from the hose. Otherwise you will empty out your propane tank. Well made product.

Very handy piece of hardware. Met my expectations. I'm glad I found it on Amazon as the price in stores is much more.

I use it on our boat as a backup to our main tank, as little room on board to safely store an extra propane tank on board.

The male POL thread cannot be screwed to the female thread of the adaptor. On the photo, the male and female of my tank is on the right side. The adaptor is on the left side and it can be seen that the 2 females fiting are different. Which adaptor should I buy to fit on a 16oz propane tank?
