About this item

  • 6 ft FT232 chip USB to TTL serial adapter (with 6 pin 0.1” pitch female socket header) connects devices with 5V logic level UART signals interface to a laptop via USB port
  • A genuine FT232RL chip module is housed in USB 2.0 type A male terminal for wider compatibility and supports reliable data transfer rates
  • 6 feet FTDI chip USB to TTL serial cable (6 way outputs, Single-In-Line ) provides access to Tx, Rx, RTS#, CTS#, VCC (5v) and GND
  • FTDI chipset on the PCB board has configurable internal EEPROM and UART signals can be individually inverted by configuring the EEPROM
  • 6 pin header 5V TTL to USB converter cord is compatible with Windows 11,10, 8, 8.1, 7 (32, 64-bit), 2008/XP/Vista/CE, Mac OS, Linux 2.4 and greater; ideal USB 2.0 debug cord for Vendor ID re-write, router, GPS, set top box, transmitter, flash firmware on hard drive, etc.

6-Foot FT232RL FTDI chip USB TTL serial adapter cable for 5V logic level serial communication
It is built with FTDI FT232 chip, FTDI’s royalty-free VCP allow for communication as a standard COM port and D2XX ‘direct’ drivers provide DLL application programming interface; a great conversion data cord to meet with your needs of debugging, boot-loading, programming, etc.
NOTE: If any installation or usage issues, please email us or you may download a driver and usage guide on FTDI official website
The original FTDI chip is embedded in the USB-A end; 6 way 0.1” header connector with VCC (5V power) and GND (ground), as well as RXD, TXD, RTS and CTS at 5 V logic level.
Applications:
Upgrading Legacy Peripherals to USB
Interface Microcontroller UART or I/O, FPGA / PLD to USB
Replace MAX232 type level shifters allowing for direct connection of products to PC
Industrial Control / USB Software / Hardware Encryption Dongles
Features
- The I/O pins of the FTDI wire are configured to operate at 5.0V logic level - Entire USB protocol handled by the electronics in the cable;
- UART interface support for 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits and odd / even / mark / space / no parity;
- Data transfer rates from 300 to 3M baud rate at TTL levels;
- Fully assisted hardware (RTS#/CTS#) or X-On / X-Off software handshaking;
- Internal EEPROM with users writable area; - Supply voltage comes from USB bus, no external supply required;

I've used this to program Arduino on macOS 14.7, Windows 11 and Debian 11 bullseye (Raspberry Pi) and all showed FTDI chip and used built in drivers. Very easy cable to use! I like that pin 1 is called out on the 6-pin connector with an arrow. Nice thick cable, the USB end is plenty sturdy and has good strain relief - well built cable.

I purchased this product to use with img2track software for my kh930 knitting machine hack. This will make sense to those working on the same project. The product worked well and i have no complaints.

I use it for communications with AVRs. Easy to get it to plug into a breadboard. Works well for me at 38400, I haven't tried anything above that.

Haven't even tested it yet - but it's useless without a pinout!!

It works rather well. It states FTDI, I believe it is because it does work rather snappy unlike the FTDI knock-offs out there. I'm not going to hack up the USB end to find out if a chip is stamped FTDI or not. I'm happy it works well.

I have used other brands USB-->TTL with Z80 style computers, most have problems of one kind or another. This adaptor works great! USB to TTL level signals are good, plus the 5V is reliable. Recommended.

Perfect way to access an Arduino. Works from my Linux (Fedora 31) system just by plugging it in. I did not have to reconfigure the Arduino IDE to find it.
