I ordered a number of slides - auditioning a few to find the ‘right’ sound for dobro and electric. It needed to fit comfortably, and produce just the right bluesy tone: not too shrill, not too woody, just right. Surprisingly the Joe Perry “Boneyard” slide sounded best on both acoustics and electrics. I have medium sized hands, and the fit was spot on with not too much slippage.

My son started playing the guitar and taking lessons and he has been curious about different creative aspects of the guitar. I’ve been a special education high school music teacher for 22 years. I have plenty of guitar toys… over 35 pedals, a few amps, acoustics, electrics, basses, etc… it’s very important for any aspiring musician to have as many creative outlets as possible. Anything that gets you inspired to pick up the instrument, is a very good thing. The more time you spend with the instrument, the more benefits you’ll reap. As such, using an ebow, a capo, a whammy bar, alternate tunings, a cool pedal, or a guitar slide, are all tools of the trade and tools that tap into your creativity. Yes… I have slides… but they’re all too big for my son’s tiny fingers. I did a bit of research and found Joe Perry’s “Boneyard” slide. The size is perfect for his fingers and hand and the sound is a bit warmer than a glass slide and much warmer than a metal one. If you’re looking for a slide for tiny hands, this is it.

I love the sound, it’s just too small for my finger to get through. I wish they made a short BIG slide.

I have acquired a large collection of different types and styles of guitar slides over the years, and I’ll have to say that this one is very nice. The inside is unfinished, so it won’t slip off, it’s lightweight for being ceramic, and it’s already survived a 2 foot drop onto a wood floor without breaking ( which is nice considering I had only just received it about 3 hours earlier. LOL!) Overall opinion is take all the decorations off, except maybe for JP’s initials and knock $4 off. I will say that both short/long are the same price and I ordered a short for this one.

This has a nice tone when used with electric. Nice fit and comfortable.

Just what I was looking for. A great pinky slide that fits me perfectly. By using your pinky, your other fingers are free to play chords and lead runs, allowing for a very flexible slide technique.

would barely get over my pinky knuckles. was going to return it and dropped it on my porcelain kitchen floor and broke it. that was on me. guess my days of taking over the world with the slide guitar will have to wait

It would be really helpful if ring sizes were listed. Ordered & returned two - one was way too big & the other too small. The slide itself is nice & looks really cool though.

Nice sound from this porcelain slide. It's the only slide I have so I can't compare it to others. As a massive Aerosmith fan I simply couldn't resist it although it seems a little more pricey than regular glass or brass slides, I assume the name of Joe Perry has something to do with that. I've been assured it's a brighter sound you get from porcelain as opposed to ceramics. Comes with some instructions and suggested tunings for slide guitar, open G and D. Some people don't like to mess around with different tunings after learning all the chord and scale patterns in standard E tuning. I totally understand but open G and D basically turns each fret into a chord which makes sliding around sound so much better. You will find the blues for sure. My only issue with this slide is the design on it, I don't want it to come off so I play with that on the outside so it never touches the strings. Not sure if it's designed to be permanent and I don't want to find out either.

I have two of these and amongst the slides I use the most - I have two as I bought a second one at greatly reduced price as used, I bought it as a spare in case I broke the other. But, be warned as it is smaller than the other one, so these vary slightly. I have a medium Joe Perry slide too, the same but bigger, and that one is awful, grates against the strings feeling like they are rusty, it also has small lumps imperfections on the surface. My conclusion is quality control is poor given the high price
