I was concerned that this would be cheap and b/c a couple of reviews were mediocre. However, I am pleased to say this not only replaced my nonfunctional old valve on an expensive set of Monessen 30" logs, it also fit the old screw holes, gas connections, and even the knob is easily replaced with the knob/rod on the old set. So pleased we now can use the ignitor, on/off switch, and even connect to a remote.

It took about half an hour to install.

This valve came with without a thermocouple port. The Fireplace thermopile supplies enough voltage to replace the thermocouple altogether.So don't worry about that. The pilot will stay lit without it.
