I plan on using it for my dust collection system in my woodworking shop. The tub is extremely sturdy. I put my cyclone dust separator on top the other day and it works great. So I upgraded my review. The lid came wavy and when I finally put it together the lif was fine.

Exceeded my expectations! Received this barrel today, and I was very please to find just how sturdy it actually is! It will make a great dust receptacle for my shop dust collection system! Only issue I found was the bottom cam with a slight bulge which cause it to rock on a flat surface slightly. But it is a dust bin that with sit in the corner collecting dust from my dust collector!

The plastic lid seal is very strong, but had to be trimmed slightly for band to be able to be quickly and easily removed and then reinstalled after emptying out waste material. However, the drum is light weight, and I had to reinforce it internally as a 6 hp vacuum caused the drum to collapse in on itself. It now works well without the drum and lid leaking or drum collapsing. A lower HP vacuum may not need the reinforcement.

This is a very sturdy container with metal locking ring on the lid. Lid is just about flat, with a slight arch to it, but still flat enough to cut out and mount a cyclone on it for my 2 stage dust collection system. Worked out great.
