This thread checker is extremely useful. Prior to buying this set, I was using a set that was on a steel cable, but it didn't have as many sizes and was awkward to use in tight places because you had to twist the entire cable holding all of the thread checkers.This set comes in a storage case so you can keep them all together and you can quickly see if any of the sizes has not been put away. I also like that they are color coded between metric and standard. Lastly, this set has more sizes than many other solutions. This is a real time saver. I used to have to take the bolt or nut to the hardware store to match it.

Wish I'd had one of these years ago! This takes the guesswork out of knowing the right thread size before shopping for fasteners. Also helps when trying to organize the spare nuts and bolts collected over the years.It would be more convenient if the Metric and SAE pieces were on separate ropes. This one can be a little awkward to use at times, due to its length and weight. The "detachable" feature helps with that, but there are a lot of pieces to thread back together if you do take it apart - and that would also be easier if it were two separate ropes. Still, very happy to have this

I can't tell you how many times in the past that I've picked up bolts or nuts from the hardware store only to find out that they are the wrong size. The instance that really got me to purchase this was when I purchased the bolts specified in my vehicle manual and they were the wrong size. I purchased this and used it to determine the proper size bolts.What I like about this set over the others is the adjustable cable clamp. I can loosen it up to put a lot of space between the size gauges or to take a gauge off the cable completely if I need it to get into a tight area. The gauges seem to be of decent quality and should last as long as you don't abuse them.

I work in a manufacturing facility that has US and European made equipment so there's a mixture of SAE and Metric hardware. Can find out diameter and thread before sending a helper to get new hardware.

I ordered this as a Christmas gift. The box arrived open and empty. Requested a replacement and got the second one. That box also was unsealed. But I like the product. Probably going to order one for myself soon.

Should have bought this sooner. Very nice set and useful for finding the size and thread pitch. Having both metric and imperial together is very good. The size and thread pitch is easy to read as it is in white.
