I like this egg slicer, it did what it's designed to do - slice eggs. I like the fact it is plastic and easy to clean. It seems to be pretty sturdy and the wires cut right through the eggs. The egg slicer stores easily in my cooking tool drawer. It is definitely worth the money.

My favorite salad is a “chef’s saladâ€: greens, tomatoes, diced or sliced ham and turkey, a sliced egg, some shredded cheese, and (usually) thousand island dressing. This egg slicer works OK, but it can be a tad tricky to get good slices. You can’t drop the slicing part too fast or you’ll probably squish the egg before it slices. Likewise, you can’t go too slow or it won’t slice cleanly. It took a couple of eggs to get the rhythm nailed down. Also, if your eggs are overdone (boiled too long), they become tough which makes slicing difficult.If you’re willing to work with it a bit, and you’re careful not to overcook your eggs, you should have good luck with this. I don’t use mine often enough to assess the durability, but so far I’m not seeing any problems (I’ve used it about 8 times). Decent value, too.

First time I used it one of the wires streched and you can no longer operate it. I had to manually push the eggs through the remaining wires and when I finished I threw it into the trash and then ordered a quality one for about twice the money. THIS THING IS A USELESS PIECE OF CRAP!!! TRUST ME IT IS WORTH SPENDING ANOTHER 4 BUCKS TO GET ONE THAT LASTS FOREVER

I make a chef's salad for myself at least once a day. (It's sort of a magic bullet in managing my glucose level, and my version is delicious!) This thing makes slicing the egg so quick compared to using a knife, that it materially helps me do this.

These slicers are wonderful for making uniform slices (think food presentation) and especially handy to use with arthritic hands. Easy to use easy to clean. Good value!
