Cheap, thin plastic, floppy, but also very usable. Smaller polyfoam medallions hold their shape well, but this one not so much. I used low expansion spray foam to fill the back of the casting and trimmed it flat. This also allows for much more surface area for adhesive if you need it. It's so lightweight that I probably went overboard on the adhesive.The casting is crisp and very consistent with little to no flaws in the pattern. If this is installed on a ceiling that isn't perfectly flat, it is floppy enough that it will bend and show that imperfection. That's the main reason I foamed it.Spray paint adheres well and has a smooth finish on the surface thanks to the casting. Overall, I'm very happy with it as most medallions of this diameter get very expensive. This was a good budget workaround and wouldn't look out of place in any environment from a small home to a higher-end residence or business.

I really like my medallion. It is made out of plastic or PVC, but you can paint it. I painted mine and it looks good on the ceiling. Some comments said they were flimsy and cheap, but I thought mine was sturdy and it was really easy to install.

Nice color, nice details. The edge where it meets the ceiling is SOOOO thin. I saw a video where someone used spray expanding foam and filled the cavity of the interior to have a bigger surface to apply adhesive to. Glad I saw that video, that's what I did and I got a nice even adhesion to the ceiling. Otherwise I think I would be seeing gaps around the circle of the edge which would have driven me crazy. Nice color, I didn't even paint it, and it matches the ceiling well. It really does provide the finishing touch to my chandelier installation. I got it because I was replacing another fixture and there was a circle on the ceiling from the old one. This covers that and adds a air of elegance. Just plan on how you're going to get good adhesion to your ceiling or wherever you're using it. But for the price it's an excellent value with a little extra effort/creativity.

I had purchased over 15 medallions previously and the heavy weight 3d material and painted surfaces always provided a beautiful addition to the ceiling fans. But this medallion is plastic and is very different from the others and a startling change. I was very surprised when it was delivered. It is thin and light weight. It is not as nice.
