This thermometer is appropriate for all ages, which is a huge bonus and not all thermometers are like that. It's compact, so you can carry it with you. Small enough to keep one in every room, if needed. Good for travel to check your temp before you travel.You can set it to different temperature scales and I found it to be very accurate. We've measured it against the other digital and analog thermometers we have, and it's right on par with the other ones. Also the fact that it is no contact is very important, too.It's easy to read, easy to use and it stores previous temperatures.You can use it for reading the temperature of other things, too Very handy.

Used this to take my temperature a couple different times also used an old school conventional thermometer with the mercury in it and this thermometer read the same reading as my old thermometer did. This is a lot easier to use than the ones that need to go under your tongue, under your arm pits or worse between your butt cheeks. I also like this thermometer has around 30 different temperatures it can store in the memory so you can get a comparison of past temperatures.

The one thing you must be able to count on is a thermometer being accurate. I tried 4 at the same time for comparison. Two were the infrared guns, the other two were a Vick's digital and another brand digital. I have Covid. The Elate registered 97 the first time, second, and third times. It crawled up to 98 after several more tries, a few tenths at a time. The two "stick in your mouth" digitals started off at 98.4 and 98.5. After several tries, they moved up a slight tenth of a degree. At least the digitals were within the margin of error. By the way, the other infrared gun was just as bad as the Elate.
