i bought this for my wife of 32 years. she played violin since the 6th grade and has loved it. i noticed she hadn't been playing as much and eased it into the conversation. her hands always hurt after, even if she warmed up and did her finger stretches for a few minutes. i knew how much easier it is to play my electric rather than acoustic guitars so i stepped out on a limb and bought her this.it is so freaking pretty and she gets compliments on it all the time. the sound is so wild and it even comes with a small battery operated amp for noodling around (is that what violinists call it?).she has played it many times since i bought it and has grown to love it's ease of play and the quality of the materials it's made out of. she said it's a lot sturdier feeling than she expected for the price and hopes to keep playing for at least a handful more years. the gig bag was what impressed me, her hard shell case is the original from 197* and has taken a few lumps more than it can afford. this IS a soft case but it's very well padded and has spots for everything she needs to carry and a few spares of most stuff.

Still learning but this violin is solid and amazing! Needs to come with the shoulder piece though. Had to order that separately. But other than that, well worth the price!!!

I’ll start with saying I’m a semi-professional player. I’ve been playing for over 30 years, play with a local orchestra (sit 2nd chair 2nd violin) of over 60 players and get paid for gigs, but it’s only a hobby. (Hence the ‘semi’ part.) I purchased this violin so that I could practice without bothering my family...as we all know, people just LOVE to hear the same 8 measures over and over and over, haha! So, to save my family any more stress (COVID is causing enough of that!!) I purchased this rocking blue violin. Now, it just came about an hour ago and it’s snowing, so there’s no point tuning it until it’s warmed up, but I have no concerns regarding tuning as it looks like it is incredibly made and very sturdy. If there’s any issues I’ll update then.It was packaged wonderful and arrived very safely and it even had the bridge in place!! Woohoo!!! Fiddling (pun intended) around with a bridge is not my favorite thing to do. The case is well made and VERY light! It looks like a traditional wooden case, but weighs a fraction of one! When I saw the case on line I figured I’d have to get a new, lighter case, but after feeling this one, I think I’ll stick with it and add some fun patches to jazz it up. There’s even room for lots of stuff on the bottom AND room for a shoulder rest at the top of the case! Score!!!The bow seems nice. It’s lighter than I’m used to, so that’ll take a bit of getting used to, but that’s what practice is for, right?!? There’s two spaces for bows in the case, so if this one turns out not to work for me, I have room for a heavier one!It also cane with extra strings, an amp, headphones, and rosin. Everything you need is right there!I’m fully expecting this to become my new, favorite toy very quickly!!!

I’ve been playing violin for about 15 years, and have had a lot of different instruments with varying quality. I would call this violin very high quality. It comes with everything you need to play. Headphones, amplifier and all the correct cords for these come along. The violin and the amplifier both come with batteries. The amplifier is very easy to set up. The instrument comes in a very nice case, has a bow and rosin included. The violin is also already stringed! It only took me a couple minutes to get it tuned, probably due to it being in different temperatures during shipments. The only thing that didn’t come included was a shoulder rest, so if this is your first time buying a violin, make sure you buy one of those as well. I’d highly recommend the Kennedy Violin brand, and will probably be buying more instruments from them in the future

It's a pretty good violin for practicing or playing for fun, but I can't say that it's the best violin I've played on. I've only played for a few minutes, but the paint is kind of rubbing up and down the neck and shifting doesn't feel very smooth. Of course, I expect this to improve with time, but I'm still disappointed that the paint rubs off so easily.I also expected this, but the violin is in fact heavier than an acoustic violin, so just be aware of that fact if you're looking to buy.I like the bow a lot. I might even use it with my regular violin every so often~ It's light and bouncy and feels nice while playing spiccato passages 🙂The case is nice and lightweight and has enough storage for my needs~ I also lucked out and got the blue case, which makes me quite happy! As other reviews have stated, the headphones are crap, use anything else you have. Idk if it's because of the headphones or if it's the nature of an electric instrument (this is my first one) but there's constant G string resonance when using headphones. I'll try it with an amp or speaker later to see.All in all, it's a nice instrument and I look forward to using it more! I also like the fact that it comes ready to play unlike some that are shipped where you have to set up the bridge yourself and the pegs slip for weeks 😅
