We purchase them to protect from the heat and they seem to work well.

This blanket was a LIFE SAVER. I recommend this blanket to any runner who has to wait in the cold before a race starts. It was 38° with 15 mph winds the morning of my marathon and we had to be outside for 2 hours before the race began. It was brutal. And you couldn't have on many layers because you had to run a race. I was shivering and my teeth were chatting, but I noticed an instant difference in how warm I was the moment I put on this blanket. It immediately cut the wind and kept in the little body heat I had. I do not know what I would have done without it. I will bring one of these to all races I have to wait outside in the cold for before the start. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS. It is also easy to ditch and throw away at the start and isn't as expensive as throwing away sweatshirts and sweatpants!

"We hope you've had some time to use your Kangaroo Emergency Thermal Blankets (Pack of 10) and you're loving it! Would it be possible for you to take 10 seconds and leave us a review on our product? It would mean the world to us!"So I got this email a few days after getting the emergency blankets that I bought to have on hand in case of an emergency. I haven't had an emergency that close to buying them (btw - it might be thought of as insurance fraud if you bought insurance just days before using it) but they do look pretty sitting all folded in their little bags. Beyond that my experience with them is that they seem shiny as far as I can tell. I would open one up but I have a hard time folding a map (thank goodness for gps) and imagine that refolding one of these and getting it back in the wrapper would be even more difficult. There were in fact 10 emergency thermal blankets in the pack of 10 emergency thermal blankets. This means that my wife and I are prepared for at least 5 emergencies each if they end up being only single use. Although I might have to do some serious evaluation of my life choices after about emergency 3 or 4. That may call for some lifestyle choice changes at our age. What this probably means is that we can put a few in each car and in our hiking pack as well as in our luggage to keep for an emergency. I feel that at home I will just use our non-emergency blankets as we have quite a few of them.Once we've had an emergency occasion to use the emergency blankets I will either update this review as to their performace characteristics or I will be dead in which case I will not update this review.

These blankets are amazing! They come folded so tiny. My fiance, brother, sister and I took a roadtrip this summer across country. We camped in Yellowstone and *thought* we brought enough regular blankets. Luckily, we packed these! My brother and sister each used one and they were so happy. They are like a light aluminum like, they make crinkle noises whenever they move but the 4 of us shared a tent and it didn't really bother any of us. Most importantly, they kept them warm! We also then used them to cover up the bathroom floor so we could get dressed easier after showers, because the campground's bathroom floor was gross and soaked. I have since kept one in my car at all times and also packed them for an outdoor concert where I knew it would be cold and rainy. They are so, soooo warm! Amazing product that I bought at a great price. I need to order more soon!

Very fast shipping. I broke one out to test it. The temperature was 32 degrees outside and A bit windy. It covered my upper body nicely. I wore a thin jacket and it really made a huge difference. The key is to put a layer of insulation (e.g. Coat, gloves, etc.) in-between you and the mylar. If I was in my truck, stuck on the side of the road, I would say it would make the difference between hypothermia or an uncomfortable night/day. I will give some to my family and friends. For the cost and small size, there really is no reason to not have a few in your vehicle. I will buy a more durable bivy or mylar bag for camping, fishing, etc, but I will always carry a few of these. They can be used for all sorts of emergency scenarios as outlined by other posters and websites. One con was that I did accidentally rip it while fumbling about but for the cost it's what I would expect.

These Emergency Thermal Blankets are great to have on hand. Life throws so many situations at you where you may need one and our family is glad we now have a 10 pack of them. We live close to Atlanta, and it doesn't snow often, but when it does, ice is usually part of the package. With ice comes downed trees and downed power lines, that usually means no electricity for a few days. These emergency thermal blankets will help out. We will keep one for each of us in the trunk of the car too. These emergency blankets come in a large ziploc type bag, then each individual blanket is also in its own ziploc type bag, making it easy to store them wherever is convenient for your needs. Of course they are perfect for emergency situation, but they can also be used for camping, at the beach, on a picnic, or to keep dry at a sporting event if you encounter rain.Emergency Thermal Blankets provided for free by Kangaroo in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Very compact packaging-great for emergency kits. Bought these for our emergency earthquake kits (after the two big ones this summer in SoCal). I work at a residential facility so I to buy enough for all of the residents while also making it economical. These are a great price point for a bulk buy, come individually packaged, and also are compact, which is a must for emergency preparedness kits. I can’t attest to their warmth yet (and crossing my fingers wont ever be able to), but this product more than met my expectations.

Used a few of these in some first aid training. They will probably be better than nothing in an emergency but don’t plan on using these to cover an adult person they are not long enough. If you turn the sideways you could wrap them around your shoulders and upper body.
