I have had this book on my wish list for ages, Found it as a mark down option in my daily feed and snagged. It came in good condition, did not smell, it was nicely worn in with miminal corner moosh mainly from how it was shipped.This book is chocked full of blast from the past pattern, pictures and instructions. Made my month finally getting it. So impressed with the authors choices of patterns, instructions, LOTS and LOTS of color pix, line drawings and more, this is a must have for your sewing and quilting fun. Fingers are itching to get in and made a few pillows, table runner or 2 and other things, Gift season and craft faire season is just around the corner. Have fun.

This book of classic patterns shows basic quilt blocks, as well as beautiful quilts made with them. Both appliqué and pieced blocks are included, with full directions and templates. But the best part of all is, they take it a step further and show modern ways to make the blocks more easily and quickly, through rotary cutting and strip piecing. The patterns range from very easy for a beginner - such as Buckeye Beauty, Arkansas Crossroads, Crown of Thorns or Double Irish Chain, to some that require more tricky techniques such as curved seams and inset pieces in Double Wedding Ring, Wandering Star, and Dove at the Window.This is a great addition to your library of quilting books, whether you're looking for a specific pattern, looking for inspiration to choose a pattern, or just wanting to relax and browse through the beautiful pictures. A newcomer to quilting may enjoy it (in the beginning) just to learn the names and styles of traditional patterns.

Pleasantly, surprised by quality of this book. Actual full size patterns for everything you need to make each quilt. Logical, organized, succinct patterns with pictures as visual guide as well as written instructions. Sizes given for twin through king. So many classics to choose from, very much worth the price!

I am new to quilting and this book has an extensivel selection of quilt designs and techniques. It includes clear instructions, photos and templates. This book will be a staple in my growing quilting library.

I bought this book for myself several years ago and I really enjoy having it. So I also bought one for my step daughter. It seems to me one of my friends mother had this same book years ago. The directions and cutting instructions are precise unlike some quilt books I have purchased. You won't need to worry that the pieces won't fit together even though you cut it just the size they said. It has plenty of quilt patterns. There is a photograph and a diagram of each quilt. It is my favorite quilt book. If I could only have one this is absolutely the one I would keep.

This book is filled with quilt patterns and beautiful pictures of each quilt. It has templates for each pattern with easy to follow instructions. I love this book.

If you don't have it..get it. The book is filled with ideas and, best of all, the patterns for the pieces. Not to mention instructions on putting the blocks together. And yardages. In short - if there is a "Classic" quilt you wish to make it's likely to be in here. The main problem is that one keeps finding "Gee, I want to make that one" quilts. I bought this after a friend loaned me hers for a week. I think a beginning quilter would find it especially useful as you can learn the blocks and names from it as well. It also has some less common blocks. For example I'd been looking for a variation on Snail trail/Drunkard's Path. Found it here as "Roads." And remember..you do NOT have to make the quilt the same size as in the book. Go ahead - play with the blocks and create your own variation. Or do a small quilt using only a few blocks to try something new.

Ich habe das Buch für knapp 20,- (gebraucht) bekommen. Es ist vom Jahr 2001/2002.Der Inhalt ist ein wahrer Schatz. Es gibt einen kleinen Grundlagen Abschnitt. Dann folgen 101 klassische Quilts mit Anleitungen und teilweise Vorlagen zum Kopieren.Die Farbigkeit ist, zum Teil, nicht ganz aktuell. Finde das aber nicht so schlimm. Es geht ja um die Designs selbst. Die kann man nach eigenen Wünschen umsetzen.

A really lovely book. 101 clear, coloured illustrations with patterns full size to copy. Lots of good advice and clear illustrated instructions from choosing fabrics to making labels. Everything is covered. I had not previously been a fan of traditional quilt patterns, but I will be making some of these. Best quilting book I have.
