This diamond gauge is exactly as described and pictured. The numbers are easy to read and it's small enough to put on your key chain or in your purse. I got tired of jewelry stores trying to gaslight me about how many points of diamonds was in a specific piece. I buy a lot of diamonds and I can tell empirically, how many points of diamonds a piece of jewelry has. This way I can back up what I know to be true with this handy tool. You simply put the hole over the diamond and it will tell you if it's 2 points all the way up to 5 carats. 100 points is equal to 1 carat of diamonds. Jewelers try to gaslight you just because a piece has diamonds in it but depending on the size and carat weight of the diamonds, that will determine the value of the jewelry. Obviously, the bigger the diamonds, the more expensive the piece of jewelry. I wish I knew about this tool 20 years ago!

Useful for sizing small items like gemstones, but very sharp edges. This could use some improvement.
