Pros: Durability - This bag is made of good-quality canvas. I am a musician who has to carry several heavy legal-sized scores, and the bag was able to carry the weight and accommodate the size easily. I've not tried using it in the rain, yet, but anticipate it will have some protective qualities due to the thickness of the fabric.(One thing to note: The fabric stubbornly holds onto animal hair and lint. This is probably a canvas, rather than bag, issue, since it also happens with my Lands End bags. But people with pets may want to know this.)Straps - I am a very small person - about 100lbs - I appreciated the ability to easily change the length of the strap. Also the top handle helps when the bag is very heavy. (I worried that this was designed with men in mind, based on the photos, and may only had limited customization.)Cons:Looks - I purchased the "gray," but the color is a brown-gray or dark taupe. It's definitely not a neutral gray. Also the strap looks like a seat belt, with a cheap looking vinyl placket.Closure- I opted for the velcro, which is my bad. While these are handy when in a hurry or needing easy open access while doing something else, opening the velcro, due to the huge size of the panels, is very loud. Opening this bag in any sort of formal environment, like a meeting, is impossible without the whole room looking at you.Another minor con is that the bag has no structure. It is more like a rucksack in that it lies in a heap, rather than having some framework to help it stand. This poses a small problem when carrying lightweight items, like file folders: the bag frequently falls over. I plan on trying to use foam or plastic in the bottom to help remedy the situation.

Updated review - the company reached out after my review and resolved my issue. Since the first time I used it was past Amazon's date to report product issues, they did not have to do anything. They do read the reviews and take issues seriously!I really love the product. I have a large laptop and very few bags would hold it and VERY few could do it with style. This product was perfect for that, and I love all the extra zip pockets that help when I travel for easy access to my passport, Kindle, headphones etc. The side pockets can hold a 16 oz bottle, which is great since my old laptop backpack could not.When my clip broke that held the flap down, I found a product on Amazon to replace the clip without having to remove any stitching. Estarer Messenger Bag arrived quickly and for the price it is really well made and easy to use. Plenty of pockets for cables, hard drives, paperwork or a portable mouse. My only concern is the zipper to close the laptop section seems like it would rub on the laptop, potentially scratching the surface finish. But, it has done from the daily use so far, so I won't detract any stars for it.It also barely fits a 17.3" laptop, so if your laptop is any bigger, it won't fit this bag.

This is quite a nice bag but it doesn't have a lot of capacity.My main issue is that one of the plastic buckle clips broke within 2 minutes months. It's not exactly a cheaply priced product either.

I have gotten so many compliments on this bag, it is big and fits all of my items that I needed it to fit and the strap goes long so I can wear it as a cross body. I am on the go everyday for my work and it holds a ton of stuff, I really pack it full and there is no wear or tear like I have with other bags, usually because I overstuff them and the handles start to frey, but not this one! I highly recommend this bag if you need to bring a large laptop and other large items with you
