Great size, weight and quality. I wanted something that would hold a lot of string, and this reel fits the bill. I have another that is smaller and flimsy. This is a quality piece.I haven’t used it yet, but will update my review if I don’t agree.

Broke the very first time we used it, but luckily I am resourceful and fixed it myself with some JB Weld. The string was strong enough to withstand a 10 foot wide kite at a few hundred feet up and very strong winds.

I don't understand why there are so many great reviews and that it lists "great for toddlers" in the description. This came with no instructions, and the line jumps off the reel as soon as you touch the thing. Inside of 10 seconds this becomes a horrible tangled mess. I literally have no idea how this is supposed to work and keep the line on the spool. Two grown, reasonably competent adults could not get this to work.

The string clipped on the kite nicely. It soared high so I locked it and handed it to my 2 year old. Just ordered another one so we can both fly
