eto's story
eto was born out of a desire to enjoy a bottle of wine without the pressure of time. In 2012 award-winning designer Tom Cotton set about inventing a decanter that would preserve wine, and also make a beautiful table centrepiece.
12 years on, eto has a Red Dot design award and a global community of loyal fans.
Beautiful, by design
eto is made from borosilicate glass and high-grade stainless steel, and all its materials are durable, BPA free and sustainable. eto is also practical. It fits inside a fridge door, the parts are easy to assemble, and the sharp lip gives you drip-free pouring.
Dissasembling and cleaning eto is easy. Every eto comes with a step-by-step and additional instructional videos can be found on the eto website.
Lab tested, expert approved
eto underwent rigorous testing and re-testing with a wide variety of red and white wines at Bangor University over a 12-month period. The results showed that eto clearly out-performed competitor products in preventing oxidation.
eto also underwent blind taste tests with independent wine experts – including Master of Wine Richard Hemming and renowned wine experts Tom Harrow and Matthew Jukes – confirm that wine preserved in eto maintains its original quality.
Hemming reported, "On the seventh day, there was no perceptible difference between a freshly opened bottle and the eto-stored sample."

Received this as a gift for Christmas. Now we’ve purchased 2 to gift to others. Does a great job of preserving wine for a few days after opening. Looks very elegant as well.

The Eto decanters are fantastic. I bought a few when they were launching on a start-up platform and have purchased several more since as gifts for Oenophile family members and friends. The device is elegant and intuitive and works beautifully. This can serve as a decanter and storage for wine for those who do not finish one bottle in the evening. The Eto wine decanter also lends itself to blind tastings, especially if you have several. My wife and I enjoy opening three different wines and comparing them and seeing how they change over several days. The information says you can store a wine for two weeks in the decanter. We have tasted some solid cabernets over a two-week period, and the wine did not deteriorate. The decanter is very easy to clean, pours perfectly with no spills, and holds an entire standard-sized 750 ml wine bottle. We typically aerate/decant directly into the Eto decanter using the Rabbit Wine Aerator Shower Funnel with Sediment Strainer in stainless steel ($20 is a great price). For older wines, it serves as a great strainer to remove sediment and works great with the Eto decanter. Lastly, the design and construction of the Eto Decantur are excellent. The glass container which holds the wine, is dishwasher safe, and the neck and sealing mechanism are easy to rinse and dry.

I received this decanter as a Christmas gift and I absolutely love it! It took me a minute to figure out how to use it, but once I did it is so easy. You just push down on the top after pouring each glass of wine which pushes all the air out. This kept my opened bottle of red wine tasting just like a newly opened bottle even after a week.
