I purchased this Cat in the Hat standup for a friend to use as a decoration at her son's 2nd birthday party. The Cat is fantastic!! Printed on paper similar in weight to poster board and slightly glossy, he came in 4 sheets each containing a section of his body. He is plain on the back and not double sided. You simply carefully punch him out. There were also 3 punch outs that look like generic red, yellow and blue books. We punched out the Cat, traced him onto foam board, cut the traced shapes out using a hot knife (just search here on amazon, but also available at most craft stores), and then used a regular glue stick to attach each section to its foam board mate. Once that was done, we put him together and taped 3 small dowel rods down the foam board to support him. He was well over 5 feet tall and a party hit! Really impressive decoration for a Seuss themed party at a great price (17.99 at the time).

I had mine laminated. It came in sections. But is as tall as I am (5ft).

I purchased this for my Preschool classroom door. My kids love it. It was fun for them to look and talk about the Cat in the Hat! It was great.

This thing is huge! I mounted it to cardboard so that it was sturdy enough to be propped up for our twins first birthday party. It turned out great. It would have been awesome if they make it thicker and with a stand on the bottom so it could stand itself. We propped it up on an a stand and it made the party very festive!

This is great! I just received this in the mail, and it is exactly as described. I don't know why some people gave this poor reviews because it literally is EXACTLY as described, and I hate when people give an item poor reviews based on their inability to read a description, so I wanted to post my review as soon as I opened it...The item comes as a cut-out in 4 pieces on POSTER BOARD. It is in fact poster board just as described. It is not thin paper. Obviously it won't stand up on its own because no poster board can stand up on its own, but there are definitely things you can do to make that happen. It is very tall, I didn't measure it, but it looks to be about 6 feet tall, ares described. I bought this to be a decoration for my 1-year-old's birthday party this weekend, and I am so glad I did because it will add fun to the decor.The item was very easy to pop out, and easy to line up and tape the pieces together on the back. I will post a photo once I have it all set up at the party.Overall, a great purchase and I would buy it again in a heartbeat!
